Back in early May, I finally got a job at a local factory and was able to own a vehicle of my own (couldn't pay insurance.) I have a 94 Chevy S-10 4x4. I got it from my grandparents...guess you could say it was a "Congrats on the job" and early b-day present (was at end of May). Since I've had it, I've put just over 600 miles on it driving down to visit family every weekend and driving to work.

Even though I got it for nothing, I'm going to be pouring about $500 or so into it. Already got the spark plugs, plug wires and fuel filter. Have to get a new battery and new tires. Hopefully i dont have to buy a new tank. My dad thinks there's a hole in the top of the gas tank.

Things I would like to get for it is a new set of speakers, an amp and 2 subs and a fiberglass tonneau cover.

As for future plans for this thing, I'm deciding on two things. Either a Pre-runner or a street truck to compete against the GMC Syclone. Either way it's gonan cost some big $$$. Anyways, onto the pics.

And something you will rarely see, me posing

Congrats on the job and good luck with it.

Nice looking S10. The two-tone looks really good.

Cheers,
Kyle

Is it the 2.2 or the 4.3? 94 was the first year that they got away from the hardbody S-10's. It looks really clean and with the color scheme, chrome accents would look nice, including rims.

Shame it's a 4x4, would be sick slammed and dragging frame if it was a RWD.

Planning on lifting her in the future?

Oh, engine pictures please!

4.3's are great engines and there's a pretty big aftermarket for them...and if all else fails...you've already got the tranny there for a V8 swap.

True on all of this, except you forgot that in the long run, getting the 4.3L up to 300-500hp your dumping more money into it than buying a LS2 Corvette(6.0L) V8 and stuffing it into the engine bay lmao.

Price wise, if you want more power, go for the extra mile and do a V8 swap.

The only bad thing about the two tone is, im gonna have to get a new pinstripe(?) on it because it's fading and looks like its starting to chip. After i washed it yesterday, i noticed some bare spots in the stripe.

As for an engine swap, that will only happen if i keep the truck long neough and have the extra money. Now, how i'll use the engine i dont know. I'd like to see another truck be able to compete with the Syclone. But, then again, i'd also like to catch some sick air in a truck. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

I've got a truck that'll wtfpwn a Syclone =P

If it were mine, I'd keep the 4.3 as it's a daily driver and that little v6 has plenty enough potential and power for a daily driven truck.

My mod list would be (in order)
1) Electric fan conversion
2) Header
3) Cat back
4) Home made, water resistant intake
5) Bigger throttle body
6) 3" suspension lift
7) Bigger tires
8) Some ZQ8 rims (see link http://media.photobucket.com/image/z...x/DSC00701.jpg)

As far as the pinstriping goes, 3m makes a product called "Woodgrain and Pinstripe remover" (see link http://www.allensfasteners.com/IMAGE_PARTS/08907_S.JPG) that does a wonderful job of softening up the vinyl, then you just take a plastic spatula/putty knife and scrape it off. Before using that spray, though, i recommend that you give the truck a good waxing around the are that's going to be hit with the spray, except for directly on the pinstripe.

A quick photoshop of what i'd do to the exterior...
about a 3" lift
2 toned gunmetal rims
fender flares

Whoo, I love Syclones! Corvette killers of the day, AWD with a 4.3L that had 280HP @ 350 Ftlbs that only weighed something like 3600lbs.

BRUTAL! You gonna have fun trying to get that engine pumping out some horses.. Vortec yes? If so, you should have something like 200hp(or more seeing as your's is a Gen.2 S10) in that instead of 150.

Stock Gen.1 S10's in 1989 had [160hp @ 230 ft-lbs] with their TBI 4.3L(262)V6's and they were not Vortec's

Here, I'd might aswell give you an S10forum link....

www.S10forum.com

^
Site has amazing information in it, some folks have one off builds, some have Syclones others Typhoons(**** sexy!) and others make daily drivers, and frame draggers. I'm sure they could help you out alot, plenty of folks that have done things before on that site that could help you out!

We took the bed off the truck yesterday and figured out the problem for the gas leak. The sending unit on the tank as rusted to hell. So we got that replaced. Also got teh spark plugs and wires changed.

And i've made my decision, im not making an off-road truck. Im goign to make me a SyTy killer

And on an off topic note, the storm that hit here caused chaos for the town.
