I know, but in all honestly, all that GPM does is make it a little more rigid...the biggest flaws with an xmod lie in the crappy electronics.

I agree
I think if you put miniz or micro t electronics in an xmod you could beat a losi 1/24 or a mini z every time without any gpm

I wouldn't go that far.
All of my Xmods have either micro-T, or Mini-Z electronics and despite lots of tuning and tinkering I consistently turned faster laps with both 2wd and AWD mini-Z (MR02 and MA010)
I did have fun trying though, and I also ended up with faster, better handling Xmods as a result. In the end I leave the racing to my Mini-Zs and the Xmods are my guest cars.

But, as was previously stated, the best was to improve an Xmod's handling is to replace the PCB with a hobby grade one.
An AM mini-Z PCB can be found for as little as $15-$20 on forums, and sometimes even less. It's definitely the best money you can spend on these cars.

if you want to easily do a board swap with a mini z board/iwaver board you can screw in the motor ,take out the stock servo motor and put in the mini z one and you will only have to solder on the POT. or you may even be able to mock up the mini z Pot and put it in

for the cars i would suggest making custom mods for them. $100 is more than enough for an awesome car. Check out my .:Project R34:. I only spent $5 on that whole project because i had to pay to get it shipped to my house. All the other upgrades were from junk piles or things that i made. now that car is an insane drifter especially for running the stock board.

LOL seems to me as if someone has never even taken a semi close look at a picture of a Mini-z the only time i ever beat a mini-z was in a drag race against a stock MR-015 with a Gen 1 with AWD, Stock R, and 2x2 fet

Last time I raced a mini z and an xmod I was on an rcp track custom layout I had a mini z mr02 mm with an xspeed and I was beat by a imod with a pn racing 50 turn motor and was beat by the xmod by a lot. We switched remotes then I won with the xmod was it just luck? Idk
