Wow, this is a great idea and it looks really good. At least it can handle good on ice, even though snow gives it some problems. I'd surely buy a set if you were to mass produce.

Nice work on the chains. In the videos it looks like a little more weight would help with traction (and maybe a little less speed!). I am sure the body would add some good weight but have you thought about putting weight in the tires?

thats an interesting idea... but that might slow it down too much or put too much strain on the tires...

Yeah that is what I was thinking about too. It would take some testing to get it right and avoid breaking something. To much weight + sudden traction or wheel hop = break of parts. I know on larger scale RC crawlers people put BB's in the tires so they will always fall to the bottom of the tire and keep traction on the ground. Not sure how much room there is between the rim and tire, I have never had a tire off the rim.

it does good for what it is, 1/28 scale truck. if you try to get it too much traction with this motor you will start snapping dog bones in half. even with alloy something will have to give when you go from slipping and spinning to a strong grip.
got a body on it, ill get pics later, then i have to work out a paint job.

yea then there is the issue of dogbones and diffs.. they need to be able to handle it too

Yeah I have already heard some alarming noises from the diff/dog bone area having both diffs locked and just the lift kit tires when I am in a minimum traction situation and then suddenly one tire grabs traction.

i believe you can use the aluminum dogbones with the lift kit as long as you do the spring mod to the wheel stub.

true, but you also have to look at the availability of the longer alloy xmod dog bones, which is none. so you have to do with what you have to work with.

got the second color down, 1 more to go. the original idea i had for the paint on here i wouldn't be able to do without an air brush, so its going to wait for the time being. next purchase when i get some extra cash is an airbrush. so for now heres the pics
