H2 Crawler
hey guys,
as all of my other projects are on hold due to their own reasons. some need parts, some need things fixed. to keep me busy i started another project. one i have been wanting to do for a while. its an H2 crawler. so far: the servo i will be using: this one is MUCH bigger than an HS-55. comparison pics later. i am going to have to cut off that little silver bump on the main gear. it is an Ultra Torque hitec servo. it has 6 kg of torque. it is used in monster trucks such as the revo, savage, madforce etc. 1/8th scale nitros. this project will go by pretty quick. so keep checking it out. any suggestions? later T.I.M

that servo aint half the size of the one i got from another rc car, but i also have a h2, it isnt my crawler though, thats my f150s job lol, but my hummer has custom tires, body lift, offroad kit, lights, tire carrier. it's more of a rally truck

if you want i have another HS645 that i am willing to hack open if you want to see it. this one well.... its not the same anymore..... you'll know what i mean tomorrow or day after tomorrow. and yeah, i figured i was only going to make one crawler. so why not do it right the first time. hopefully if it goes well, i will make more crawlers BTW i noticed its VERY VERY easy to make a crawler now to the main part: UPDATE: 1/10/08 i cut the silver thing: gotta love dremels:halo: when i opened it up i realized that the silver thing is not the ONLY thing stopping the servo from rotation 360*: see that? its molded like that!..... BUT.......nothing my dremel can't take car off : i cut off the WHOLE part as i won't be needing it. so i got the servo to turn 360*: that is not the permanent gear, that is messed up, not even as u can see in the video. will use another one later. so what do you guys think so far? once again, all comments, suggestions are welcome later T.I.M

Update 4/10/08.
UPDATE: 4/10/08.
so when i tried to mount it, this is what happend: it touches the tires..... not to worry, once again i am saved by the dremel. : i saw that after cutting all the extra wires, i had a LOT of hollow space: after cutting it up, i decided that i did not want any dirt getting in there. so i made use of the dremel, some sandpaper and a cd case: AND FINALLY......... ITS MOUNTED!!!!!: a pic of the articulation: custom skid plate: and................. A VIDEO!!!: a pic of how steep the first run was: ^thats a lot. and the video: so what do you guys think? any feedback? oh and I AM LOOKING FOR AN HS-55 SERVO STEERING DIAGRAM. ANY HELP APPRECIATED. THANK YOU. later T.I.M

ok, its been a while. my project has been slowed down a bit because of school and due to the fact that XI ran out of his monster truck tires. so i'm waiting for him to stock back up. anyway: i have done the bumpsteer and wide axel mod: rewired the battery with AM 16g wire and relocated it to the front: increased the articulation: it can articulate at right angles. started to cut up the servo gearbox for the hs-55 to take its place: took the wire from over^ comparison pics between an HS-55 and my servo: will update soon again. any ideas on how to mount the steering servo? thanks Later T.I.M
