Shapecharge's version of "Am who I am."
I really liked Tex's piece on personal vehicle history. So here is my version. Like Tex I grew up drooling over a parent's vehicle. My Dad had a 1967 Mustang GT Fastback parked in the garage. This 390 ci 4 speed was purchased from the original owner in 69' and served as my biggest toy through grade school and Jr. High. Along comes driving age, a set of keys and several negotiations on a restoration plan. Though mechanically sound I, like most teenagers, could not afford to restore it and it was sold to a local Mustang shop. The good news was the guy who bought it did a fantastic restoration job. The sad part was that My Dad found the car and owner while eating lunch at a local Winsteads several years later. A local Mustang club had used the Winsteads parking lot for a car show. After a discussion with the new owner he found out it was his old car. After hearing this I felt a little bad because if I had put more money into my end of the deal we might have the car today. At the time girls and audio equipment seemed more important....and they were. I grew up with a monster of a Mustang and anybody who has at least few decades under their belt can tell you a " I should have......could have...." story.
Well fast forward a few years, a good wife and job and now I have another Mustang. Not the 67', because I don't have $50G+ for a toy, but a 06' GT toy. The 06' has 6,700 miles on it and rides on 20" Foose wheels w/ Nitto tires, Eibach suspension, after market grill, spoiler, short throw shifter from Steeda, BBK tower brace, Corsa exhaust and a few other additions. I will get the 06' pictures up soon but the 67' pictures will take a little more digging. Moral of the story: Live and learn and establishing good credit can't hurt! Here are the pic's. You can guess the sig. on the dash.

Nice. '67s are nice, but they are like having a child. You need to spend alot fo your free time with upkeep and maintenance. You probably made the better of the choices for the car.

Who is Chip Foose, Alex? Ah... Jeopardy reruns.
Beautiful looking Mustang, Shape. The rimes match the car nicely.
