lol same i need to order new tires cause mine are pretty much balled hahaha.

i cant wait for it to snow and mess with it lol.

i need differential oil badly cause my front ballons up fast with the central diff in so i need to equal out the diff weights before i can use it again.

Also does anyone know if i where toput 50 weight in the front and rear differentials and put 50 oil in the central diff would it do its job of keeping the front on the ground? or does it have to be different

I have another dilemma. I am going to buy this heatsink http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJPU9&P=7

for the motor. do i need anything else or is just as simple as sliding it on or what else do i need to make it work the best

Yup just slide it on. I'm in the works of making mine NEU powered but that ofcourse requires money. And if you do go 12C(idk if u did or not yet) DO NOT I repeat DO NOT do standing back/frontflips. If you do, say bye bye to your drivetrain. Also the stock gearing for the 1/16 E-Revo VXL's is 28/55 and the speed pinion is 23t. When I got mine back in June, killed the drivetrain doing standing flips AND also cracked the "speed pinion" casting by over tightening it so found my 1/10 Slash's that I never use because of the SW 5700 and put it on. Its a 48p pinion so any 1/10 Slash, Rustler, Stampede, E-Maxx, E-Revo, ERBE etc... pinion will work. I do not recommend going over 23t pinion and below 55t spur for 12C as you will burn out your ESC, trust me, happened to me, currently my ESC is in at Traxxas' factory for repair

cool thanks so much for the fast help. i eventually want to make it go as fast as i can. i shave the stock 45 tooth spur so i ordered 2 more 45 teeth spurs.

i have done a few standing back flips hahah but i try not to i need to get a better wheelie bar.


if you dont mind me asking but did traxxas charge you anything for replacing it. and will they replace the motor if it breaks??

also what diff oil do you run in the front central and rear. like what would you recomend for all out fun.

like in the snow(when it comes..cant wait!!!) what would be the best to run diff weight wise and would you recommend the central or no in the winter. thanks so much

Well I would call like I did they are really helpful and never did they put me on hold at all. Right now I run stock but gonna try racing soon so gonna get center diff in a few days finally and gonna try different diff weights. They said $40+$5shipping for replacement once they report back to you what it is, or $15+$5shipped for repair. Like I said, stock spur is 55T on the E-Revo VXL not 45

Thermal paste to put between the heat sink and motor is a great idea, to fill in any tiny air gaps that might be there. Air gaps make the heat sink work like a blanket and hold the heat in.

As for diff. weights, I have no idea.. mine are all stock. And, New Eras wheelie bar will cure your standing back flip issues. I can be sitting still, hammer full throttle and just go.. I recommend getting one.

oh cool ling you got one. After i asked you about mine it failed on a stock battery and i would never let your beauty get damaged due to my bad design.. do you know if tower has them? and i believe you have the central diff right?

and your tires dont balloon up?

I was going to just get 50k weight and put it in all my diffs but i think ill call now

Yeah they do. You have to push a few numbers here and there but make sure you go to the customer service/troubleshooting area. My ESC should have arrived a day or two ago to them. Hoping to have it back before next friday, when I go upstate for the last time of the season. Yeah get two 55T's I got a spare one laying around because incase I break one, don't wanna have to wait. Gonna probably get the Center diff later. Was it you who got one because ik alot on other forums did. If you did, how is it?

i do have it and it makes the front tires balloon on a 11.1v 1300 lipo and same with a 7.4 2000 lipo. so thats why i wanted to either just get 50k weight and make them all equal. My neighbor said i need heavy in the back light in the front. But it does okay like no more wheelies period. Not even a chance with it lol. but i took it out cause i did not want to damage my tires. All in all it does what it says it does. My only wish was that it did not balloon the front tires up.

But hopefully that will change after i talk to traxxas.

If your LHS does not have them ask if they can order it if you give them the part number thats how i got one. Or if it comes to it cause tower changed the due date to late oct i could order you one from my LHS and then just send it out

I don't have the center diff, don't really need it since there's not a track for me to run on and wheelies are fun anyway.

My front tires balloon like a mo-fo with a 2s Li-Po though.. looks like it's walking on it's tippy toes.

lol they are fun but i mainly want it cause in the winter i dont want it like diggin in and gettin stuck lol.

but it ballooned up and next thing i know is the trucked stops but the tire kept goin past it.

Okay guys well I think my servo is about on its way out. What would you recommend switching to. I might get a spektra DX2 so it would be cool if it would work with it...No clue if any servo will work but i just want to stay safe.

Also just want to make sure the DX2 will be perfect for it? Is this correct?

By "spectra DX2" I am assuming you mean "Spektrum DX2" as in the DSM radio?

I have not experienced any problems with my Spektrum DX3 transmitter and Spektrum SR3000 three-channel receiver running HiTec, Futaba, TowerPro and Associated servos. They do, however, recommend that you use either JR or Spektrum servos. Ironically enough they're both Horizon Hobby affiliated, and if memory serves me right, they're both (JR & Spektrum) owned by Horizon Hobby.

I would check out JR servos first. If they're within your price range I would suggest picking one up. They're great servos and a lot of guys swear by them out on the field. If you cannot afford a JR servo check out HiTec next.

Oh, and be sure to find the proper sized servo! If I'm right the E-Revo uses micro servos, not "regular/standard" servos!

So I think the DX2 will be fine but I want to know what the biggest differences are between the DX2 and DX3

At the moment, with the above setup (DX3 and SR3000), I am running the HiTec HS-645BB. It is a high torque but minimal speed servo that I use on the Axial AX10. If I remember correctly I paid $31 on TowerHobbies for it. Great price, great servo, it's lasted well over a year on a used and abused RC.

Which receiver is it (SR3500, SR3000, SR300, SR3300T, etc)? I can't think of a Spektrum receiver that has five male JST slots..

Look no further than these two pages:

Spektrum DX3.0
The main difference between the two is that the DX3.0 supports three channels where as the DX2.0 only supports two channels. Realistically on most RCs you only need two channels (servo and throttle control). However, some people go with the DX3.0 just so they have that extra channel incase they need it for something (dig, auxilliary randomness, etc).
The other main difference between the two is the DX2.0 only supports two model memory while the DX3.0 supports up to four model memory. You can view all of the differences (there aren't many) on the links I supplied above.

May want to check out the new DX3E; MAPs for $99! That's one cheap three channel radio (with included receiver and servo!)! Big downfall with it, though, is that it only has one model memory, not four like the DX3.0.

That looks sick. I think I might stick with getting a DX2. But my dad was looking into something like it something 2.4g. So this is perfect for him.
