yeah... I got that... should have been more clear on the question... how about something like:

"I just noticed this thread and I'm wondering: Is this something that happens regularly, or just once in a while?"

We haven't been racing as frequent as we used to be. I'll get with the rest of the guys and see if we can all hook-up on March 20th or 27th.

stay tuned...

Nah, nothing anymore. We had a website, but the guy running it let it go. You can ask me anything regarding Tulsa racing.

are ther any requirements or restrictions that mes would need to know about??? how would we find out about events???

have two and half cars. the blue truck in my picture probly worthles for racing becase it has a rs lift kit. dont stear well at all. have a titan trying to get runing it needs a antena bering 4 wheel drive and such. my final one is the transformers cop car. it has headlights and tail lights with all wheel drive and mettle berring upgrade. want to get the cop car the flashing lights one day. I also want to get the new corvet but the fixed crystals on the gen3 seams kinda wierd.

My fiancee has two hummers. one is finished with the rs lift kit 4x4 and berrings. the other been siting in a box wating to be built.

Thanks on helping mes with the racing info. Oh and we instaled the RS lift kits before they totly ruined the stering.

Alice

Basically you can run whatever you can control. There are no restrictions. It you can control a lithium car, you can race it. The 1st time we raced years ago, I made the mistake of bringing a 5th cell gen 1 with the fastest motor and gearing. I was bouncing off the rails and placed last.

Word to the wise...

Control, control, control...you have to setup your car for control over speed. To do it all over again, I'd setup my car with a slower speed. I'll give you some other tips on setup for our track as we firm up a race date.

10 lap races

Any reason you have chosen such few laps?

Most R/C car races are time limited, not lap limited, and the time is usually 8-12 minutes. A 10 lap race would be like 2 minutes at most. At the end of the time limit the guy with the most laps wins, if there are people on the same lap then it goes to whoever finished that last lap first. What kind of lapcounter are you using?

What we've been doing as of late has been lining-up on the start/finish and blasting around the track counting our laps out loud. 1st racer to 10 wins that race. Very informal, very friendly, very competitive! During the race, it's pretty obvious who's the leader, who's on lead lap, and who's not trying to be lapped. If everybody's happy with their setup, we'll line-up again and rip another race out. If a racer needs to tweek the car or throw in some fresh batteries, we'll chill a while or challenge someone one-on-one. You get a lot of races in with the entire group and after hours of doing this, you begin to see who has the skills and who has the car. The cream rises to the top and so does the respect.

That's how we'll do it if there's too few racers. If we have enough racers, half will race a heat, while the other half counts laps using hand-held counters. Not very techy, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes.
