Well I just got this body today and here is what it looked like when I got it

really crappy paint job



After almost 2 hours of cleanup and sanding this is how it looks,
still got some more work to do on it



I am planning on returning it to its natural state MB Silver, unless you guys have other ideas?

Looks cool, but... Isn't the CLK and SLR two different Benz models? My favorite Benz, other than the 190E is the CLK-DTM, but you've only got an SLR-McLaren in there...

Who would do that to a rare SLR? is the xmod SLR or a model?

he got it like that... as a body, painted black crappily.


anyways, the only other color is black.... which was already done... otherwise silver

i would go with green snakeskin accents outlined by a gold pinstripe on a black base.

It's already stripped. The best you could hope for in silver is stock. My SLR is the only car i'm spooked to alter. That car is exotic enough to carry a dark red, not maroon.....red.

yeah Xmods made a silver one but this is a Kyosho body that came white.

and it is the Mercedes Benz SLR-McLaren
and like I said that (cheap black paint job) is the way it came to me, now I have the fun job of trying to restore it.

the great thing about paint is that if you dont like it you can always sand and re do it...

IMO, the SLR ain't the sexiest car of the lineup. Its just a little too exotic for my tastes. But, seeing how it is an exotic car, bright colors wouldn't do very much for it. I think either a dark, gunmetal, or a pearl white.

Its your car man, and since there aren't all that many SLR's, you'll have a somthing truely unique!
