Your just using AAA batteries right?

Should be fine.

It might have drained the AAA's, but otherwise, it shouldn't matter (It might still run actually, but with reduced power).

Nimh will make your car faster and have a longer run time.

It's like leaving a light on in your 1:1 car. It will, yes, drain the battery dry.

Now, with any battery for xmods (aaa) you should remove the batteries, when you turn off your xmod. The battery acid inside of the batteries will leak out onto the Postive and Negative terminals on your xmods battery trays. Though it is very easy to clean it off.

Leaving batteries in your xmod, while it is turned off can shorten the life of your terminals and your batteries also. Well, not really shorten the life, but it will seem like it as the acid will become a sort of resistor, and cause a resistance and will result in a power drain.

Best advice, turn off your xmod and then take the batteries out. Only advice that can be used by any member, even if they are somewhat annoying.

Blade.
