Rx-7

Well, I decided to do a re-paint on the Rx-7 that I got from Xmodification.

I just did some minor touch-ups to the body, like smoothing out the roof, and filling in the body lines around the hood and headlight area.

Here is how it sits as of now:





Here are some pics of the touchups:








I plan on a bright green and CF paintjob for this one. Like the Carbon Creations Rx-7, with green replacing the blue:

This is going to be awesome. I love rx7's. Xmodification did a really nice job. Now you are touching up a couple spots and giving it a new paint job. keep us updated.

No, the model wasn't the F&F Rx-7, but Xmodification painted the body with the F&F scheme.

It looks amazing still, lol. Are you going to do a carbon-look paintjob with screen or is it just going to be black?

I need to experiment with some different methods. The screen may look out-of-scale, but I'll try it anyways. I may just mix gunmetal and black, because you can't see any detail in the Carbon Creations pics. I just need to experiment.

lookin good so far, i think it will be great green instead of blue, although blue does look rather nice...

I tried out the CF look just now.

The lighter of the colors is just straight gunmetal; the darker is gunmetal mixed with black. I think I added a little too much black - it turned out really dark!



I decided to stay away from the mesh method. It's a little out-of-scale for me.

What do you think of the color? I'm leaned toward gunmetal mixed with a little less black than I used for this test.

If I can finish it in time, haha....

This time I got it right! I also tried the green I will be using - it's a little different here because I didn't go with the right base coat. Also, the lighting in the pictures makes it look a little different than it is in real life.




And I don't believe I've ever posted my airbrush setup:

wow that paint is really smooth and that color is going to look awesome on that car. its going to be amazing when finished looks great so far
