How to stand out (more)?

Maybe it's the starbucks I just had. Maybe it's me wanting to rebel. Maybe I'm just a teenager. Maybe it's me thinking of that girl I met the other day, but won't ever see again.

I have a pink mohawk. I have a big flat-head screw looking earing in my ear. I'm getting a barbell in my eyebrow at somepoint in the next few days (they were closed today). I got to a black school, and we have 20 white kids.

I'm itching to stand out at my school, even more than I already do. It's killing me. The mohawk and pink hair isn't doing it anymore, so I might do blue next. Like a torquise. Half the kids border on the emo dressing thing. I'm about to order white tripp pants from HT.

But again, I want to seperate myself from the crowd without blowing up with piercings and stuff. And I want to look tasteful, not like some random crap thrown together. Any ideas?

personality is the biggest thing. when your seen coming down the hallway sombodys could say: O god here comes a emo kid.
or they could say: O god here comes that emo kid that knows every thing about a CRX
really you of all people shouldn't have a problem with this stuff. if you act in public like u do on here you should be good to go!

If you really want to stand out...conform.

Running the art show circuit taught me that "standing out" in the standing out crowd was really just another method of conforming. Blue, pink, red hair- they are all the same. You can pierce whatever you want, but it is just a piece of metal through your skin.

What you are wanting is something to mask your own insecurities and social anxiety. You will claim people "don't get you" becuase you don't get people. Just wear what you want, but in a crowd of people that wear what they want and dye their hair the way they want they all look the same.

Shove all of the feathers in the world up your butt, but you'll never be a chicken.

But, erm - i'd say it's definately in the personality. Be outspoken, but kind and stuff. Also, funny guys are a big plus.

I don't know, haha. All in all be the you you are around your friends.

Meh Everything that Surgeon said is darn right true. In someways I think im similar to you (apart from the school thing). You should try liberty spikes I did once. But then I ended up doing what I want doing the right thing. Showing people your true self and what you really are instead of covering up what you are like. Be yourself most importantly. Let people into your world and let them know how you feel. Just by leating people into your life and showing what you are really like will make you a lot happier and you will not have to cover up by Outrageous Hair Styles and percings (SP). I have many percings (SP) but as surgeon said that all they are is a bit of metal through some skin.

Sorry if I went offtrack of the topic. Hopefully I didnt.

If your just wanting to stand out from the crowd get more peircings change your hairstyle monthly. Doing this will make you stand out and might even make you new friends but it could do the complete opposite in your situation.

well, just like other people said above. the best way to make yourself stand out more is to show your personality.
i used to have the same problem sometime ago in school.i tried changing my hair style, i got the exact opposite effect of what i had expected. people said Tayyab, you look retarded.
i tried to change the type of clothes i wear i got a similar response.
i almost even got my WHOLE neck, forehead and arms tattooed.

NONE of those things helped me a single BIT.

but then again,

i have another friend in my class, and just about a 2 months ago, people wouldn't even talk to him. he dyed his hair, and started to wear REALLY baggie jeans, chains, bandannas,long shirts even the way he talked.

people started noticing him. why? well, these kind of things also depend on which kind of environment your in. some people may like these things and some may not. < and that matters a LOT.

in the end i got my self to be noticed by people, i stood out like anything. and what did i do? nothing to change my appearance. i went back to my old style and all. my teacher told me some wise words, 'your personality, use it.'

and i did. and the effect was amazing. i started to be kinder to people, i always tried to make people laugh. i tried to show my real self, and it worked.
^ but you don't have to change ur self by being kind or anything. you can show people what you can do what others can't. things like that. and from what i have noticed, you quite good at that around here.

so, use your personality.

Why don't you sit down and write out a profile of yourself - WHO AM I? WHAT DO I LIKE? WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR? WHERE AM I GOING WITH THIS?....etc., etc., etc. You need to find out these things and evalute yourself before you go about looking for other people's advise or suggestions on what to do.

Standing out nowadays is pretty much like fashion - one days it's the trend the next day it's last session's stuff - anything unusual you try will be forgotten about in a few days. I personnally think that anyone who try's to stand out is just looking for attention, approval, fame, love or just some sort of friendship or companionship from others - it's not wrong but they eventually realize that it's hard to go about being something or someone that they aren't.
