Default Hello from Orlando, FL

Hey guys & gals, Name is Josh, new to the xmods. I was window shopping last weekend and needed some stuff from Radio Shack for my iphone and the xmod caught my eye. The sales man guy used to be really big into R/C cars. So I was sold, took it home put it together and now I can't put it down. I'm a real hands on guy and I am going to really enjoy this hobby and spend my time running them and putting them together.

I got the Corvette X-Mod Street Starter pack, The AWD upgrade and the Stage 2 Motor upgrade from Radio Shack. Had lots of fun at the WalMart parking lot the night after I put it all together.

In Real Cars I'm a huge 80's Toyota Guy, So I am looking at getting some plastic models and making them fit onto X-mod chassis.

I ordered a 1/24 scale MR2 AW11 model from Ebay and I'm looking for a few more.

That would be cool, I'd have to see what my weekend work schedules are like. I know that I am off for the 17 to 19th but I have plans to got to a Toyota MR2 event. Drag Racing 1/4 mile on Friday, Show on Saturday and hopefuly Auto Cross on Sunday. Too bad my car is still heart less.

Yeah an 86 Sunroof Blue w/white Skirts.

I built a 7AGZE Motor for it.

That is a Supercharged motor with 1.8 Liter of displacement, Twin Cam 16valve.

Had the Block; decked, bored, honed, aligned, verify clearences measure and polish cranckshaft, knock sensor relocated*, cleaned & plugs replaced

I built the internals with low compression pistons and forged rods.

New Oil Pump, Water Pump, Seals, adjustable cam gears and a bunch of other stuff.

Here are some parts before assembling the block.

Sorry for the huge pics they will not save when re sized.

I completed the engine but I will not install it because I am planning a big move and it seems that I will not be able to take the car with me. So, I'll take the engine and hopefully I'll be able to find another shell other there.

Sweet man, My first car was an 84 CelicaSupra with the 5MGE @ 18 I swaped in a 7MGTE and rebuilt it a few years later. Then it got stolen right out of my driveway. One day I'm going to find another one of those. They are awesome cars.

Welcome. Another Floridian, huh? Too bad you can't finish the car. Why can't you take it with you? Where are you moving?

Well, I'm moving to Puerto Rico, My family is requesting that I move because I need to take over my uncles business I'm not overly exited about the move but I think it will be ok. We have a few nice houses overlooking the ocean and I will get back to surfing and boating and even get my Captains license.

My parents also want to start a landscaping business over there also.(we used to have one here)

I have been preparing for this move since June 08 and I started the car with the purpose of taking it with me, it would be awesome with the twisty roads over there. About 2 months into it, I "temporarily" lost my overtime at work, (I still have not gotten it back). So it cost like $1200 to ship it and like another $1000 for tax, tag and registration. I finished the engine last month and I want to take a few thousand with me. (I need play $$$ right). Therefore, I figured I‘d find a decent shell over there for maybe $500 to $900 does not have to be running as I am going to swap in my motor.

Welcome....

I used to be a big fan of that shape of MR2 but I've kinda gone off it in the past few years, however and not meaning to take anything away from what you have done as everyone has their own favorite car I have to say that the engine you've put together is freakin sweet, being in something that small with that amount of power must be insane, the only equivalent I can think of would be a sports bike!!

I hope you manage to get everything sorted out with the move and complete the car...

Oh also enjoy the XMODs they rock to!!
