Default CHEVY BLAZER 4x4 Xmod Proj-II (5/24/07)

Ok, I started my second project a couple days ago and I had 2 options for what to do with it but I finally decided to make it as an original trail rig - meaning it will have a 2 tone paint job like the original truck did when they first came out and I also added a few things to it such as a roof rack with spot lights (I will add lights later), side bars, and a functional side antenna ( all these are removable and will be glued back on after the body is painted).

Ok here's the pic of it at first *( NOT MOUNTED - JUST A MOCK-UP PIC)*:

Here's an idea of what the paint job should be like:

More updates to come soon!

scratch the chevy symbol off and make it a ford bronco.

other than that it should turn out awesome. looks like it fits perfectly.

I have a bronco already ( well the model kit that is) It will be the 4th addition since I just got it -lol. Here's a pic of the kit I got:

Back to topic: I'll make some custom front and rear bumpers to add on also - I think that will be all the additions for now but i'll see what else I can put on it later.

Watch trucks! this weekend, for the reruns of their budget bronco. same year as the one you posted, did a cool old school form of camo.

I bought that model to build as my next off-roader (some of you may remember the melted model thread several months ago), but I just started my 1978 dodge ram pickup instead. I'm glad to see someone else is doing the blazer first. It will give me some good ideas when I finally get around to mine.

I'm glad you are going for the original 70's realistic look. All your vehicles have been looking great lately. I've been following the updates here and at the other r/c forum, and you always impress people.

So, is that picture still your final color scheme? I bet it will look vintage cool!!!

Sorry guys, no major updates so far, I did apply the first coats of primer (using a white base primer) and that's about it. I'll be sticking to the old school paint job so that it's unique, i'll leave the wild paint jobs for my other projects. Hopefullly i should have some pics up by Friday or the project should be done by the end of this week.

the only reason I loged back in here is to see if you had any new projects...
Looks like I visited at the right time.
Good start, but I think you should give it the K5 treatment...cut the top

Default Small Updates (5/24/07)

Thanks for the comments again guys, @RodsRus - I'll leave this one as is because I have a Bronco with the removable top that i'll be doing soon also.

Ok - not much updates so far - I have added a couple coats of a white base primer on the body ( which I left to dry out for a while) and I just finished up on some custom made accessories. Here's a pic of most of what's going on my Blazer:

The Jack, fire extinguisher, roof rack, side bars/steps, shovels, rolled up canvas, front and back bumper guards are all custom made using Putty, alloy & aluminum tubes/wires/sheet, and plastic/styrene sheet ( diamond studded one too). Everything is just about ready - just the interior parts need to be painted aswell as the body too, the windows are already tinted smoke black which is about 50% see-thru.
More updates to come soon - hopefully this project should be done by the end of this week.
