Default Microsoft Word

Whenever I open Microsoft Word, five minutes into it I get this weird message. This started to happen to me since last week and any saved files that I was working on get deleted. I'm getting really irritated when I have to make 5 page single spaced reports for school. I don't really have the money to buy Office or Student 2007. Any tip and solution in greatly appreciated.

http://www.openoffice.org/ , it's a free program pack of windows-office-esque programs. And they save in files that are totally compadible with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc etc. I've used it for a few years now, just as good as Word and all them, for free.

Or do it the (il)legally way with (torrent)ial rain.

Yes openoffice is compatible with Word in that it can open Word documents and create documents that can be read by word.

In word you should have a Detect and Repair option under the help menu, try that and see if it solves your crash issue.

and if I remember correctly to do that you go to add/remove programs and click uninstall and you will be given the option to repair or remove.
