That was I was thinking. A lot of the articles about trucks say they have a mustang II clip. We just have to find a junkyard that will have a good clip..

Update: We looked online and found a universal fuel pump at a auto parts store and got it installed over the weekend and bought a new battery. She starts up, but my dad thinks the vacuum hoses are wrong. We had to pour gas down the carb to get it to start all the way. We shut it off then tried starting it again and it was catching the air filter on fire lol. I'll have pics up tomorrow since its dark out. Now we are starting the work on the bed.

I bet you the fuel pressure is the problem. Throw a regulator on it, and dial it down to 4-5 psi. Some electric pumps use too much pressure, even a few PSI high will throw a carb off.

You were right Tex. My dad hooked up a pressure regulator and it starts right up!




NEW UPDATE: My dad has been working on the bed over the weekend and it's coming along very nicely.

Get it running, just barely, get ice cream music that plays slow and crackly, and tint the windows dark. Then drive around, slowly, at night playing that god-awful music loudly.
