is the switch in the on position? did you hook the battery pack up correctly? how are you hooking the battery up, deans plugs? are you solder joints good? got any pictures?
if you have the battery pack hooked up backwards, you just fried your board.

if you have bad solder joints, you might not be getting good continuity.

if you switch isn't on you won't have any response.

if you can get some pictures of how you have it hooked up, we might be able to help more..

and what chassis, truck, evo, gen 1?

and is there any sort of response with power?

is your crystal in?

sounds like you knocked a servo wire loose. look at the board and there is a black and a white wire going to the servo. most likely one of them have come loose, especially if you have forward and reverse.

sparks and heating up are never a good sign. that could lead to fire and what not. how did you test forawrd and reverse if that happened. you didn't leave it plugged in like that did you?

well like i said, sparks are never, never good. take a look at the wires going from the board to the battery pack, make sure there is no bare spots that are arcing, and make sure whre you soldered it to the board it isnt bridging anything.

if your motor is direct solderered to the board make sure that solder isnt going from the black motor wire to the FETs (if its evo). I take it your running stacked FETs, make sure you haven't knocked some fets out of place.

did you check the black wire as well? where did the spark come from? and when you batteries heated up that meant something was shorting out. its possible that you had something shorting that caused a steering fet to blow.

You can't. You might be able to find another spot on the board to use. I lifted an fet pad on my Mini-Z board and had a friend fix it for me. He found another spot on the board that connected to where the lifted pad was and used a wire as a jumper from that spot to the fet
