Default First Car- 97 integra

So, I finally bought my first car. It's a 97 DC4 Integra. It's a 5 Speed with 120000 miles. The previous owner installed every bolt on he could find (Cold Air Intake, Tie Bars etc).

I didn't like the fiber hood at first, but now it's growing on me. I want to get rid of the wing (its an OEM ITR wing), but that'll leave holes in the hatch. I plan on getting a carbon fiber hatch instead.

Future plans include a front lip and maybe a lower drop. The roads here in NYC suck, so I doubt it. The rims are 16" AdvanRG's which I wanted to swap for some 15" Rota Slips (Spoon Replicas) but it's growing on me. I need to get rid of that ricey exhaust though; it's too big and loud but money is tight (college student).

Anyone got any suggestions? Oh and the VTEC Just Kicked In, Yo!

Wow man, that is an awesome car to start off with. Personally, I would actually leave it be for a while. Yeah, like you said, the CF hood is niether here nor there but the wing: I would actually leave the wing on. It's tasteful and not LOOK AT ME like the kinds of aftermarket spoilers you see nowadays. The wheels really suit it well and it's very clean (would be cleaner with a painted hood ) I would stay away from a CF trunk as it will throw the car's look off but if that's what you like then go for it.

I'd also leave the exhaust but I don't know what it sounds like so if it's that drone-y ricey tipe of muffler then yes. Get rid of it ASAP.
Otherwise solid pick and the 5 speed will be awesome. Keep it clean man, nice score.

i agree with sky with just about everything, and the exhaust looks pretty good imo as long as it doesnt have that cyclone sound like all the ricers around here have. and maybe im crazy but i like the wing lol, its not like massive and ricey, looks just about perfect to me.

but grats on the awesome car, all the paint and everything looks like its in really good shape. hows the under body? was it garage kept?

You need a drop, get a cf front lip and you're pretty much set. Integra's don't need much bolt ons because you won't gain much at all. lol Powerwise, get a k20 or something, but otherwise it's all good.

Looks great very nice & clean. I like the exhuast like said before as long as its not annoying & very ricey sounding I would leave it.

Like many said, leave everything for a while. You will soon love it for what it is. I had a 96' Only mods were carbon lip kit, and a low tone exhaust. Good enough.
If you have $1k to drop, get the JDM front end. They look nice.

Nice buy! I wouldn't go to the drop either. NYC roads destroyed my cousins Prelude which sits 3-4 inches off the ground. LOL. Really nice buy though, congrats.

It's looking pretty clean. I actually like it, but my only suggestion would be a drop. Not an insane one, but a small one so the wheels fill up the wheel wells.

Songha, 3-4in off the ground is pretty low... Thats like lower then Lamborghini LP640-4.

That looks awesome. The hood looks very nice in my eyes, and the wing kinda has a resemblance to the arch wing that an Eclipse has.

LOL, I'm dead serious. I can barely stick my arm underneath it.

Spoiler for So it don't look like I'm stealing his thread, the Prelude:

Okay, maybe not 3, but 4 or 5 at least. Compare to rims, they 16" S2000 rims.

Wow nice start! Leave the wing, its not ricer its JDM lol thats normal for the japanese integras. And your car is DC2 not DC4 lol. The numbers are weird cause after DC2 its DC5 integra (rsx). I guess japanese people can't count? lol nice car though. Its super clean still. Hard to find a DC2 with no rust nowadays. I only have an automatic cb7 accord and its not much fun compared to what you have haha

well i guess previous owner forgot the suspension bolt-ons like lowering springs or coilovers.
don't get rid of the advans, especially if you're gonna replace them with rotas. advan wheels are awesome. rotas are knockoffs for people who can't afford the nicer "real deal." in fact, rota boost is an advan RG knockoff, to put that in perspective
i'd go for the cf hatch if you're gonna keep the hood unpainted. and i think the wing should stay since it looks nice and it's OEM, not some aftermarket universal junk

Let me list out everything, lol.

Eibach Springs and Eibach shocks (1.25” drop)
Skunk2 Camber Correction Kit (front and rear)
DC Sport rear lower and rear upper Tie Bars
AEM Big Brake Kit-Front cross-drilled rotors with Project Mu brake pads

I can't put anything lower than 16"s without changing the brake pads. The car does have a slight drop, but it still looks very high. I'm going to leave my 94-97 front and install a Wings West lip like this one http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i5...1c649924_o.jpg.
I bought some 98-01 rear taillights (all-red) and am going to get a 98-01 rear bumper (already white). I plan on installing a UKDM rear foglight into bumper before I bolt it onto the car.
Other than the CF hatch (maybe), no more visual upgrades. From then on it's all motor, maybe a LS turbo.

The exhaust is an INVIDIA Stainless Steel Cat-back. It's huge and loud, it sounds cool, but it's too much rice.

BTW, the car is a DC4.
Quote:
DC2 - chassis code for 2dr GSR and the ITR
DC4 - chassis code for 2dr LS/GS/SE/RS
DB7 - chassis code for 4dr LS/GS/SE/RS
DB8 - chassis code for 4dr GSR
No V-TEC, can be a good or bad thing.

I'd love a JDM front end, but that will only come if the front end gets hit (hopefully not).

frankly, i like the usdm front end. the jdm one doesn't look as good imo
you could go with 17's for wheels. it'll help the car look like the lowering kit did more since the lip of the wheel will be closer to the top of the wheel arch

To tell you the truth, on these tuner cars, I can't really stand anything higher than 15"s. But these 16"s are growing on me more and more. And I just realized something about the stance...
Here is the rear wheel. See the gap? I can fit my Index and Middle finger in the gap (it's a tight fit).

Now here is the front wheel. See the difference? I can fit 3 fingers in the front. This is what is throwing off the stance. I need to get that corrected, and get a front lip and she'll be sitting perfectly.

Okay, now here is a back end shot.

Notice something different? Here is a comparison

So there, I got a pair of 98-01 tails. It looks much cleaner.

That exhaust sure is ricey...

I'd raise the rear a bit actually. I'm more for having a decently even wheel gap around the tire. Being close to tucking with out actually getting there looks bad, IMO. That, and if you plan to actually carry any people, think of the extra weight on the back end.

careful will CAI's they tend to hydrolock engines.... get a good rain storm or if you go through a deep enough puddle say goodbye to your 4 banger....
of course this all depends where the previous owner actually located the filter...
