I'm talking about a straight install. Windows and Linux can be installed on a Mac with Bootcamp, as easily as I installed Mac OS X on my computer in VMWare...

It's a Virtual Machine, your still running the original OS.

O.O my sis had the G4.. nothing went wrong with her's, and she is a graphic designer, she just hated it because it was a heater more than a computer

Macs are only so good because they release the OS on a select few computers, each being tailor made for that model. The reason XP/Vista is so glitchy and rought at 1st is because it's an OS that's designed to be as universal as possible and accept as many programs as possible.

They'll also out perform a mac for less cash. Personally I thought iPhoto was trash on my god mother's Mac, and it was slower than the 300 dollar Dell right next to it when I was editing photos. Just like the iPod, not really that great or better. Just spiffy, and smaller.

Plus, right clicking is god.

IMO, I prefer PC's over Macs, probably because I'm more used to them. While Macs are good looking out of the box and have more features, they tend to be more expensive and with some purchaces (or do some illegal things), you can get enough programs to equal the programs included on the Mac. And for the viruses, a good virus program and updates (and avoiding some adult websites) viruses shouldn't be a big problem.

And you can build PC's. Not Macs.

I was looking online for some interesting PC vs Mac facts, and as it turns out in movies and TV shows the bad guys always use a PC, and the good guy uses a Mac. Probably because Macs look better. PCs dont look as good, (but are more versatile)

Wow, 115.39%. I think I broke the website. I never thought It's be this popular!

I guess I'll name out the laptops my family has...

1 Gateway GT5032, 19" monitor, XP, 2 gigs of Ram, 250 GB hard drive. I use this one a little, my mom uses it the most

1 Acer Laptop something or another, Vista. I don't really know much about it. My dad keeps it in New Jersey

1 Toshiba Satelite Laptop, 2 GB RAM, Vista. Don't really use it since its my sisters

1 Sony Viao Laptop, Vista, 1 GB RAM. Don't really use this one, its crap though with 1 GB of RAM

1 Custom computer, XP Professional, 320 GB harddrive, NVIDIA 9800+ with 512 MB, 2 GB of RAM, AMD 5800+ Dual Core Running at 3.00 GHz, 1 80mm Fan, 2 120mm Fans, all backed up by a 1 TB portable harddrive. I use this one the most since its mine. Its a fine gaming computer I can play GRID, GTASA, Lego Island (Old school FTW), NFSPS, NSFC, NFSMW, NFSUndercover, and just barely play GTA 4 (These are all games I have played on my computer)

I just like PC's because after 10+ years of using it, I've gotten used to it.

Not to rain on your parade, but I think it's only because its a multi-option poll, so this way people can vote for both Mac and PC, hence 115.39%.

Huh... I was wondering why, and thinking that that might have been the reason, but as a noob to polls, I was cluwless. And you don't need to rain on my parade because its been canceled due to extreme heat, and if you rain upon it than tornados will destroy the town.

I kinda of agree on the whole "I've always used Windows, its just too hard to use a Mac."

But at the same time, I really disagree. When I used a Mac for the first time, I admit it was a little hard, but I got used to really quick.

I had an I-Book and the touch panel quite working and then the hard drive crashed right out of warranty. I tried taking the thing apart but it was put together like a jig saw puzzle with all sorts of hidden screws. It shouldn't be that hard to replace a hard drive. Out of frustration I threw it against a wall and found a acer laptop that was returned to a walmart for $100 bucks. We have had it for about 3 years with no problems.

The operating system on the mac was pretty user friendly but it did crash from time to time. I'm sure the towers would be easier to service. but I think for the price and the cost of software its hard to beat a PC.

The trick to a Mac, especially in software applications, is to learn the command keys. Aplle+ H or whatever. Anything without the command keys is like opening a russian doll of steps.

Macs don't have towers, they're built into the screens now. Thus, its probably a pain in the *** to do anything to it.
