Only if you don't maintain it.
You'll need to tear it apart and clean the bearings, diffs, re-oil everything atleast every couple runs. I ran my Pro Pulse about five times in the dirt, tore every bearing out of it and cleaned and re-oiled them. Need to oil the diffs soon.. |

I had an all wheel drive rally car that i used on fairly packed dirt a few times. just use those cans of air on it after every run and tear it down and clean like every third run. nothing too major

I agree with others, no damage, just clean now and then. Most I have found with the Hummer is some dirt around the bearings and a little bit got up on the sides of the diff where the dog bones go in. The dirt was slightly wet so it didnt fly up like dry, dusty dirt would.

I had no problems with my hummer and I haven't had to clean the bearings or diffs yet while playing in the dirt

Really if you have sealed bearings, you don't need to much at all. they are a tighter seal on the diffs, so nothin gets in there, and also a tight seal in the knuckles so really, almost no cleaning needed. unless you have a gen 1...

Ignore That
JUST DONT UNLESS U ENJOY RUINING STUFF. i made this mistake with my f-150 now the steering keeps geeking out (i'm not trying to offend anyone) eventually the dust gets to the electronics and everything goes downhill from there. Last edited by DRFTKO; 01-09-2009 at 10:29 PM.. Reason: double post |

well obviously you have an electrical issue. either that or a servo issue, considering the fact that i dont think to much dirt is conductable. unless you drive it in a metal working shop. maybe next time you try to give someone advice, you should research it yourself and fix your own issues first.

If you're going to be running the car in dirt often, and you're worried about dust/dirt/mud/etc getting into the electronics, then just make sure the electronics are properly shielded before you run the car. If you don't want to fabricate a whole bunch of shield plates, you can always do what manufacturers do with R/C boats, and just coat the electronics/seams with wax.
