Default My Blazer

If you have been on here long enough you'll know that forever ago xmod4life sold his Toyota Hilux Xmod. I purchased it, and well I took out the steering fets. Back then I was still learning about Xmods, so I took out the board to figure it out, and the wires were a little stiff, and they all broke off, plus the stock servo wires broke, and then fell apart. And all this time I was making the thing better. Now, it has a Blazer body, similar paint scheme, pro-grade electronics, Venom battery, and HS56HB steering servo. I still plan on making it into a full crawler, but right now until I buy a Slash, this is how it sits.

I plan on making something to cover the servo, and make it less top heavy.

Comments welcome!

this looks great especially the roof rack and paint. Does that servo give more torque and improve the turning circle even with the lift kit on?

Thanks! The servo gives plenty of torque, but the turning circle is pretty much the same if not a little bit better.

Not bad, not bad. I suggest painting the yellow accessories, they are kind of a sore thumb to the build.

Yeah, I'm going to paint them black. They are an eyesore.

Looks great, also since you said you want to make it less top heavy you may want to try & drop the body a bit lower so One it will look a little more to scale & it will help bring the COG down. Also if you could i would move your steering servo somewhere else because if that gets hung on something when you are crawling or what ever you plan on doing, its gonna mess you up. lol

But if he does that then he is just adding more weight to the truck so there is more strain on the motor. So i would say drop the body a little bit & if you could pull the roof rack off or take some stuff off of it. That would help alot with the weight issue.

The roof rack weighs nothing, I can't lower the body, I have a "skid plate" to prevent the servo from catching, and the tires are Super Swampers from Aoshima.

I Understand where you're coming from. I was leaving so it was a rushed post. Right now I'm on my cell phone at my aunts. If the body goes any lower the wires are going to get squished. The servo is a simple system, so less complicated=better. And the tree I planted recently. Its grown several inches since i took the picture. I'm really fond of it. And weight will not be an issue. Its a 1400 mah battery, with 7.2 volts. Its a strong battery. The thing does a wheely off the line!

I forgot where. but somewhere i saw how to make your own bungee cords. The method used a hair scrunchie and paper clips, with safety glue to secure.

I think it would look nice put mini bungie cords on the roof rack. BTW whats that weird looking spring sticking out in front of the rear wheel?
