Default Project:1/10th Mini HPI Cup Racer

So I decided to end the chapter of Mini Z and Dnano. And begin the chapter of 1/10th and I decided with a mini type chassis. I had been eyeing the ABC Hobby Genetic chassis but quickly came to realize the only place that carrys parts for them is their website. The I came across the new HPI mini chassis Cup Racer. I liked a whole lot and it looks more complex and more well built then the ABC Hobby mini chassis. And Tamiya is always too much and not enough support in parts.

So bang I got the newest one out there. The new 73' Porsche 911 Carrera kit.

I have a few pictures of the beginning but not the middle because I got to caught up in assembly to bother to take any and I have some of the end product with no body mounted. Compared the 1/16th Traxxas Slash.

Check it out!

I pplan on buying the Futaba 2pl 2.4ghz TX AND RX and the Sprint 2 Flux's Brushless system or running the Tekin RS ESC and HPI recomended 30 turn motor for this car

And LI PO!

looks really really cool. Dumb question here but will it be a good drifter or just a all around car.

Off topic..Why did you go with the brushed 1/16?

Looks like an awesome RC!

Is the shell prepainted or clear?

Cheers,
Kyle.

They have a Toyota Levin that comes with drift tires standard equipment. I would imagine it being a good drifter because you have several ways of setting it up. With upright suspension in the front or laydown. Another really cool feature to it that would help with drifting it has a real ball diff no gear diff crap and a front one way and you can choose the springs you want to use in the one way.
Why brushed 1/16th? I bought it because it was a complete RTR and it was under 200$ I like it just the way it is and the brushless version for it just isnt my cup of tea. More likely to really break something with a brushless truck from all the jumping of curbs flipping rolling and all the other fun stuff.

Ok got some updates...

I got my shell back from William a local lexan painter in my neck of the woods. Very freindly and does an excellent, want his info hit me up and I'll give you his site and maybe a phone number.

I changed my servo out and got a Futaba S3010 High Torque. Got a MC330CR speed control made again by Futaba. I am "Futaba'ed" out! The wheels( 0mm offset fronts and 3mm offset rears) arent new I just picked a different set up give it some bling bling for real.

Corrected the wheelbase, and set all adjustments to 0. So when I get her fully ready to run I can tune it from 0 degrees to whatever degrees I want. Yeah

Wooohoooo check it out!
