Default How to fix paint laid w/ brushes?

Ok so today my GPM front knuckles came in <3 and actually at the same time, so did my tamiya white putty. I decided to get to work on my skyline @ filling in the rear spoiler ports.

It was kind of difficult and required more putty than it should have (I suck at this) but it ended up fine after i wet sanded with a high grit. Then I used some steel wool.

Anyways to cut to the chase: I had tamiya black model paint which color matches the GTR pretty well. However, I only have a brush to paint with (which I did.) From certain angles it looks pretty decent but when you look directly at the trunk you can see brush strokes and places where paint went on somewhat too thick.

Is there any way to correct this after drying? Considering airbrushes are hella expensive.

OK CRAP. PAINT IS NOW THE LEAST OF MY ISSUES.

I put the car under my slightly warm lamp to get the paint to set in real nice and left it for awhile. It was fine, but I thought the lamp wasnt efficient enough so I got an oldschool incandescent bulb which was hotter. I left it for a bit. The paint dried great, real glossy but now IT PARTIALLY MELTED THE BODY. Right, so it softened up the plastic which started expanding and now my GTR looks kind of retarded. The rear window/roof is curved inwards now and part of the trunk and rear expanded outwords in a retarded bubble.

There's gotta be some way I can salvage this, right!??

you could always try and make the first grt convertable . and then to take care of the bubbly rear end make it a widebody or use styrene to replace the messed up parts.

maybe heat it from the bottom side carefully so it gravity pulls the soft plastic outwards

lol i did that with a nsx hood lol i i put it in the oven for 350 degrees (lowest it will go) and i melted it. but the body should be saveable, if all goes bad just make it a convertable with a messed up rear end..

Ah, I've done this once, but it just lumpified the paint, and made it all soft. All in all, we both learned the hard way :P Happy painting.
