Yeah, but I think that looks ugly on stock headlights. In fact, if I get the projectors I'll probably paint their housings silver. Not chrome, but like aluminum silver.

You've gotta stop describing various areas of automotive culture because you really don't know jack about what you're going on about. I thought you had a mental growth spurt? You sound exactly the same, but instead of ***s, or women, you've chosen cars.

Two cars of mine. In the 'burbs. Parents have their cars too (one in garage, on in the drive way). Lrn2park. Manage money, time, space, two cars is not an issue.

To the op you sound like you know Jack about cars it's a ford fuc*us that's what's everyone calls tem ricers give a bad name to imports. From the sound of it you don't know what a ricer is it's someone that puts oversized exhuast on there car bodykits and think they have a fast cars. If you want a clean car black housing headlights full coilovers ( you don't go cheap on suspension) a decent wheel tire combo and a lip kit not a body kit

if you acknowledge that your car isn't going to be fast in any way by doing those visual mods, then by all means go ahead and do em.

Alrighty, let's refrain from calling the car a "f**kus", for one and stay on topic. We're talking about fixing up a Ford Focus, not about anything else, so let's please stay on topic and please, let's not get into a big argument about what a ricer is. We all know what ricers are (Tex and I master the rice realm).

My procedure for modding a car visually always involves gunmetal rims and anything that's not body colored painted or replaced with something black, unless the car is painted gunmetal, then black rims. I've given myself a set goal to not put any kind of exhaust component on the car until i get 150hp to the ground. My opinion on getting things together for it are rims/tires, then springs/struts, and then maybe a good intake and a tune.

I know, right. There are kids that come to this forum, believe it or not. I don't want them going around calling a Focus that and have their parents wondering where they learned that from. Be mature, please, and watch your language. I don't give out infractions, I give out bans no matter how many points you have. Be considerate.

reading this makes me remember the old days of playing gran turismo with my brother. he is a hater of the focus but yet i beat him i dont llove them but it was my own little car that i knew how to drive which i think is the point of it all, as long as the owner likes it, and has respect for his car than thats all that matters
congratulations on the car man, all those people who hate it probaly dont have a car so whatever man you have done great on a first car.
and as for the differnce of the word 'focus' come on guys lets keep it cool

thanks
michael

I apologize however for the comment, just thats what us people who work in the automotive industry call them

I'm not going to make this a big debate on using improper language

Onto the thread, I'm not a fan of those cars, then again it is just a new name for what used to be known previously as the escort. But that ford fusion or is it fuzion? Idk I think those cars are actually better and I have had the idea running about maybe getting one of those, after my Vdub is paid off.

I see how you interpreted that post the way you did, but I think it's only because you're used to me being that way. I think it's the unnecessary smiley that threw you off, but really, I could car less about having two cars. I'm not trying to sound depressed or like I'm craving attention, I was just pointing out that it's a bit hard to have more than one.

True, but then it'd be hard for my parents. They both work, and my mom leaves first and gets back first. So her car would have to start in the back and end up in the front, which would cause problems for the next day. I guess then it would make sense to have one of mine in the garage and the other in front of one of the driveway ones, but if I need to move cars every time I want to go somewhere, there's really no point of having two. So I'm fine with losing the Focus for car #2 when the time comes.

Ummm... first of all, that is not what everyone calls them. That's the first time I've heard that. [Also, in what way is that an insult? If the car is telling people to "f*ck us", doesn't that mean it makes me look like a pimp?] Second, I already described ricers in that general way. Third, I never said anything about a body kit, and I'm not planning to "go cheap on suspension", just to find good suspension at a low price, e.g. salvaged from a wreck, like I already said.

What do you mean? The tinted tail lights alone add 500 horsepower!
but seriously, yeah I know they won't do squat for it, but I'll be looking at my car much more than going fast in it, so visuals are my priority. I will get some simple performance as well, like an intake and headers, etc., or whatever.

I see where you're coming from, but I can't stand dark colored rims. :P That's why I want those RS-JK4s in silver, not black. I'd prefer them in white, but they don't come that way as it turns out. Maybe I'll get them painted at some point. And the rest of the stuff you said seems good, and is relatively what I want to do, just in a different order.

But for real.
None of mine came about after a mod specifically pointed something out something as unacceptable.

I just looked at my thread about this on another forum and realized I forgot to mention a few detail bits.

Black badges- Blue just doesn't go with anything, except neutral colors and itself... Actually, I would prefer to get gray ones instead, but I haven't seen any like that.

I will be replacing the gray seat as well, but that will have to wait a while. I'll probably find someone who needs to swap a tan one for a gray one and just trade.

The black trim above the license plate will be painted body color.

I might get a ZTS lower grille with the fog lights.

And I'll get a new radio with an iPod jack early on, but that's the only audio modification I'll care to do.

Finally, I may get some LEDs under the dash just for the novelty of it.

Although I feel like you'll be the same stubborn child that's been in this thread the whole time, I could advise you to stay away from Wal-Mart or Best Buy when looking for your headunit.

Who's talking about stubbornness? I haven't made up any excuses supporting my view as one would. All I've said was either true, or someone corrected me and I changed my mind accordingly. I really think some of you are interpreting my posts wrong.

Also, I can't paint the badges myself. I don't want it solid black/gray. I still want the Ford logo and clear plastic on top.

and yeah, i already know not to trust Wal-Mart/Target for any car parts over $20. :P I'll either salvage it or buy from a trusted store, online or in person.
