not sure why. this is a horrible mod. heavy. top heavy. short life span. expensive. waste.

not good for racing, not good for anything except wasting money and having something different. only because no one wants it.

plus i doubt you could build it for any less than 15 bucks.

Dont waste your $$ on this piece of junk. It is a big waste that you will be very, very dissappointed by. Another fine XI product.

actually that can be rebuilt for significantly less than five dollars, the whole thing revolves around a single transistor, correctly wired, i made something silmalar to step 9v down to five, i'll try to get a pic!

i personally would not reccomend this product, what it is, is there is a relay that is adjustable to trigger at a certain voltage. but you have to have at least 6 volts to activate it, so a 5th cell or lithium is required. you get the extra weight of the 9 volt battery, and the extra weight of the 5th or 6th cell.
when you adjust it to dump at a certain point you are no longer feeding the motor off of the batteries of the car, but directly off of the 9volt. so yes you can recreate it, but you will have to find a very small relay to make this work.
instead of adding all that extra weight why not go with lithium batteries if your wanting to bump the voltage up. they are only 1.8 volts less than the 9 volts battery, and you will save a lot of weight.
my 2 cents

well, lithium is expensive, but imo well worth the investment if you're not track racing

the 9v thing (actually you can run as many volts as you want as long as your motor doesn't melt) is pretty inexpensive. XI's just rippin. their product is the same as the tut's. this would not be a good mod on the track though

Fake horsepower. I think any type of xmod boost is stupid because it makes it heavy, gives way too much power for a tiny amount of time, does extra wear and tear to your drivetrain components, i can imagine it is not good for the motor either.

yeah it's hard on the motor.
but hey, motors have stood up to 100 volts (look at junkmodder's test.)

i like it because it gives you extra power but since you have to buy lith or a sixth cell to use it its not worth it..

if you were setting something up for strictly straight line racing / drag racing i could see it having a purpose there, but not in track / circuit racing.

if you look hard enough you can find micro relay's that dont require a cell upgrade to trigger them
so then it may be of use in drag racing but thats about it

This "POJ" you say wasn't created by XI. "blownxmod" from XMW was the origninal creator. XI just took it, copied it and sells it. blownxmod didn't patent it so XI or anyone has the right to create it and sell it for a profit. PM me if you want to see more.

EDIT: Same with the "magnetic suspension upgrade". "Nivlac" aka Calvin (R.I.P.) was the original creator from XMW. He didn't patent it. XI Copied, sells it for a profit, just like anyone can.

still, it would be pretty heavy. if you get it, i would use lipo insted of the 5 or 6 cell upgrade to reduce weight
