Exclamation It Drives But Wont Reverse!!!

ok so i put a motor from a helicopter in my car and i took the batteries and the crystal and the antenna and i never smelled anything funny... i drove my car around and i was drifting on the hardwood and i hit the wall with the side of my car.... i started to move but i hit the door frame not to hard (like an inch from where i hit the wall) and i tried to back up, all it did was make a buzzing or whirring sound and i checked to see if the gear cover was on right and if the heat sink for the motor was on to thight and it was so i loosened it half a turn and it still buzzes...... can any one tell me what might be wrong??? thanks

sounds like the pinion gear on the motor is loose. i had this same problem with my radline (i also put a helicopter 180 motor in it)

heres how i fixed it
1. take the motor out, but leave it to where you can still run it.
2. take the pinion gear off the motor
3. grab some low grit sandpaper (400-800ish)
4. wrap the sandpaper around the end of the pinion and run the motor. (this will make rough edges on the pinion for the gear to grab a hold of)
5. when putting the pinion back on the motor put a couple drops of superglue into the pinion gear then slide it on and let it dry for a bit.
6. after the pinion gear is glued to the pinion you should be able to re-install the motor and try it again.

hope this works for you, it fixed my radline

if it happens again i'd use a stronger glue, but i haven't had any problems with mine and i make it pop wheelies from reverse to forward just about every time i run it. you cant put much more torque on it than that. it withstands full speed reverse to immediate full speed forward, so im not real worried about it doing it again

yea it slipped again but it probably didnt dry enough so i put a little more and left it over night just in case. and so far no slip...
