Old racer and friends have new rules ....

I have been racin gen1 for what seems like forever now and i love it but.... my friends and i have decided to retire the cars for awhile and switch to trucks and set up a dirt/rock track for the trucks. this sounds good to me. (just love racin about anything ya know) but the problem is against my vote it was decided that only mods and parts from radioshack could be used and that no single piece was to cost more than 10$(except xmod upgrades of course).I understand that we cant all afford 40 dollar motors and stacked fets but i didnt like this and other than goin 5-6 cell i couldnt think of any ways to upgrade my truck for serious offroadin with only stuff from RS...PLease help if ya have any ideas.

build you a motor for 25-30 dollars and save for liths, and get a set monster tires and run your friends trucks over, that sounds goods to me if you do that your going to have to upgrade some part alloy or aluminium

yeap-o but do like ford said... you can make a sb hybrid for it.... and use the torque armature for it...

yup, I don't think RS sells Li-ions or li-poly but, you could grab some of the motor wire there and wind a nice good armature ^_^

we changed it to $20 and not only RS stuff but they came up with a rule on only a $60 total for upgrades per truck not counting the upgrades from RS...this should make it a lil easier : )

li-poly and neo magnets. if you're off-road and have good reflexes, that should be good enough.

yea like color said get some liths an put some neo mags in your car, then (i dont know how old you are) but if you have some old toy cars around you could find one with a tire that has a more aggresive tread and a bit bigger put them on it to help you clear a lil bigger of obsticals, but make sure they are very soft, cause if your tires are hard they will do more bad than good but the neos with give you some outstanding tourque an the liths with give you outstanding everything else, just work with the gearing to find the sweet spot, an maybe get some gpm dog bones an joint cups for all that crazy tourque
