Default Sarah's new wheels

as some of you might remember....I got in an accident in my Girlfriend's Escort a couple months ago, and after some fighting with the insurance company, they totaled it, and we got some decent cash for it ($3200 after 500 deduct and 600 buy-back), and started looking for a replacement. We really wanted a BG Outback, but they were a bit hard to come by. looked at alot with bad head gaskets, and high miles.

then we stumbled across this. 123k miles, some cosmetic damage (paint scuffed of the bumpers mostly), lots of maintenence records (most from mtka morries), new tires etc. asking 3500 obo on craigslist. almost didn't bother looking for that price, but it wasn't far away so we did. and it turned out be in awesome condition. so I offered him 3k, and he took it!

so here it is:

and the worst of the damage. he backed into somebody, and popped the bumper cover loose from the fender.....no biggy:

oh yea....I forget, the subaru guys recognize the year because it doesn't have a hood scoop......'96

this one will remain almost completely stock. might do a little suspension work with some swaybars and endlinks. probably upgrade the lighting (she's got terrible vision at night ) with silverstar headlight bulbs and upgraded foglights.

But it's plenty powerful enough for her.....might get a piggyback ECU so I can tune it to run more effectively on 87 octane or E85 to save some money on gas. Premium gas is expensive up here!!!

oh yea...and she's already a better mechanic then most guys

just a little performance work? if i were you (or her) i'd try to make it look like a kamodo from saints row, and paint the saints logo on the side. to me, that sounds like a fun project.

I have always liked those wagons. If i was looking for a wagon it would either be a Subaru, or the Early 90's Volvo wagon.

yes.....yes she is.

we took it to the ice races last weekend (will start a pics thread in a moment). didn't get any timed laps in, but had an awesome time. these all-season tires still get pretty good grip on the ice! it definitely could use some sway bars though, it's pretty floppy (which is probably why it got such good traction on the ice.....weight transfer FTW!)

I was gonna say, if this isn't Numbchux, Numbchux is gonna nut in his pants when he sees this.

Congrats. If I totalled my (ex-)girlfriends car, well, I would have to buy here a Mercedes.
