1. talk normal on forums... its not AIM or YAHOO.
2. yes aluminum helps, i got a ton of it (blue) because the plastic parts kept breaking.
3. the suspension DOES help. depending on which one you get depends on what it does.
4. deff get the off road kit.

I say only go with alloy parts if you plan on running your xmod on an aftermarket motor or on Liths-Ions...Otherwise, I have had stock xmods (only S2 motor) running on the stock parts, and it went just fine. Just letting you know because aluminum parts are pretty expensive.

Even with a "stock" xmod the plastic parts will break. The alloy parts are not that expensive. Shop around and find the best deal.

I was stating facts...plastic parts break. I'm trying to help the poor guy out so he can build an xmod that will withstand some abuse.

yea aluminum is probablly the best bet if you are willing to pay the money. The plastic parts break to easy, especially the knuckles, and the aluminum parts look way better than those plastic ones!!!

amen! That was painful to read. But, the question he asked is a very good one. I say you SHOULD get some alloy/metal/aluminum parts, but stay within budget. Get the ball bearing kit asap, and maybe a couple alloy parts to start. Then add more as your car breaks the lastic ones. I just wish they'd make some alloy lifted/off road parts.

yes. I had to replace a couple parts that didn't have a very good quality control. Too much play/wobble. Plastic is fine, but stock xmod plastic is not...

Suspension from Radio shack is pretty nice, but I feel that the EVO suspension is sorta crappy. Get aluminum, it offers stronger, durable and more reliable cars, and it increases precision over tha plastic parts.

But aluminum cars can get kinda expensive, so if you do order it, giet everything you need in one order. Also aluminum is good because if you plan on serious upgrades later, you won't have to worry about breaking plastic parts.

Later,

The only thing I had to replace that broke because it was plastic was the rear cup joints. The knuckles are fine because I always run it with my body.

Thriller, my aunt bought some pieces for me at atomicmods and the service is really good but the shipping is long for Quebec and Canada, she ordered the pieces the november 22 and she hasen't received them yet.

the good parts to buy are:
rear cup joint
carbon fiber drive shaft
knuckles

I bought the front knuckles, sealed bearings, and a few other bits from atomicmods.com and love them. They shipped fast to me, but I'm only a couple hours away from them, so shipping SHOULD be fast. Canada would take a while.

I was thinking about getting the aluminum gear case since it should help dissipate heat from the motor and gears...

Oh, and xmodgam3r: what do you mean about higher kits? I have the radioshack lift kit, but would like to go higher. Who makes a bigger lift kit?!?
