Sorry to hear that, Dude. I understand how you can live there when the weathers nice, but I wouldn't want anything to do with the south during hurricane season. It's just not worth the hassle.

It's all a bunch of left-wing,tree-hugging,liberal hippie socialist propaganda! It's all hype! Al Gore is NOT a climatologist! Sheryl Crow is an idiot! She wants us to use one sheet of toilet paper?Easy for her to say because I've read her lyrics and she can fit a lot of crap on one piece of paper...(not my joke but still funny). These people just want more government control and more tax money for BULLCRAP programs like Kyoto to poor into gov't. Besides Kyoto would cost billions of taxpayers$$$. These a-holes use kids in their awarness commercials and that ****es me off. These kids aren't even given the chance to hear the opposing argument. There is a really good book written in 1992 called Trashing the Planet. Google it and read it if you can. It rips these myths to shreds using....you guessed it... the Scientific Method! It's sad that this is more of a political issue than anything. The earth is going to be here loooong after all of us are dead and gone. People will keep doing their thing. Besides more warm weather means more time to play with r/c cars and trucks outside! Winter sucks *** anyway! So I say don't let these butt-pirates tell you how to live! You only live once!

hell yeah whip out the hummers and hemis and other big blocks well be driving like its 1973. funny thing my grandpa said that trucks back when he was younger got better mileage than any truck on the road today. I say blame the dam emissions equipment choking the engines. back then trucks were all steel and so were cars, today they are all plastic and the mileage is down.

Thats, not true. Most sedans were lucky to get 15, with the exception of small displacement V8s, the Z/28 was capable of 20s. My CST/10 will be lucky to get above 10. Maybe some the old straight 6s did decent. But with short gearing of the old 3 speed transmissions, and carburation, its nothing close to a modern truck which can boast 18 or so highway cruising.

The only difference is, how we drive these days compared to before. If we drove at the pace of a farm truck in the 50s, we'd all get nice MPG from a truck

I know my focus is rated for 31 Highway and 25 in the city. I get more than that on the highway it is around 33 actual MPG driving at 60. if I slowed to 50 MPH I could get 35 MPH.

Human contribution is negligible. Nature contributes a heck of alot more than we do.

Al Gore and most "climate scientists" ignore water vapor (which is responsible for about 95% of the greenhouse effect, and is 99.9% natural). They focus all their blame on co2, which only represents .038% of the atmosphere, and humans only contribute 3% of that.

Al Gore isn't a climatoligist and his movie is full of misinformation.

I believed the whole global warming thing till I saw the one on youtube about it being a hoax for a great money flow to scientists and it opened my eyes fast. Think about it kiddies your parents and I pay taxes so these idiots can study something that isnt true and they know it. did you know the EPA is tring to make CO2 a pollutant? you know those smog tests are just a BS test to get money for the local government. everywhere you turn some government dick is trying to go up your rectum. they are trying to figure out ways to bone us everyday.

IN our life time we are going to have a fight with both china and N korea again. the chinese are going to start fighting us for oil before long. they are a large part of the reason gas and oil is getting expensive. they have 4 times are population and are now just getting serious money to buy things unlike before.

As for aids in africa they need to start using contraseptives this can all be blamed on the pope. he went there and said contraseptive are evil and should not be used. what happened aids went thru the roof and we are funding the fight, the **** vatican needs to put forth the mega bucks to fight it not us they caused it and should pay the billions IMO. the people who live there arn't to bright either. if they were they would be able to help themselves out. they are one of the worlds biggest diamond producers and also among the poorest countries. heck the arabs wised up and formed a oil club after 30 or so years, OPEC, why not the african nations form a diamond club and call it DPEC. problem is no one wants to show them how to mill their raw diamonds into the ones we get at the stores. Its all revolves around money and if people saw what the real diamond workers looked like they would think twice before they get that shiny rock, we should be asking where the source that diamond came from. I would only buy it if it came from the three canadian mines

Short bit we learn in Texas history, 7th grade
Texas is the only state that can legally separate from the US. all the other states are trapped in some legal contract. i say we do it just to see the US's reaction and show the world how great Texas really is.

^only true Texans would be up for that though

btw, even if all the americans use more eviro-friendly stuff, theres still countries like china and japan that have a lot of cars and factories that produce a major percent of all the worlds pollution or whatever you want to call it

here is a couple figures to throw out there as an estimate of world GDP or for all who dont know gross domestic product. china has been growing at a rate around 10 to 20% for the past year where as ours, the US, is at 4%. the laws over there are not enforced at all where as our companies are checked regularly to make sure they meet enviro. regs.

I also think it's funny that they know exactly what the climate will be like in the year 2100, yet can't tell me what the weather will be like next week.

Also as much as i hate to stupid celebrities making them soun d like they care about others and kids and **** "kids are our future".

And if you dont start to respect them, then their going to dump you in an old folks home until you go under. Cuase right now bondo if you were 60 after saying that i for sure would!

FYI, I never said anything about global warming, I just talked about gas prices, and what Katrina had to do with them. I never said anything about global warming. (except for maybe one time where I pointed out something to someone) You can't tell me that gas prices aren't in the present, even you put up with them. I'm just saying that some people didn't talk about global warming. I can't really see your point of view because i can't stick my head that far up my a$$.

I have a lot of respect for you bondo, don't get me wrong, it's just, global warming, gas, hurricanes, etc. are such a contriversial topic, that everybody has they're own original opinions. I'm sharing mine, you're sharing yours, and we have different points of view. so, don't take this as me attacking you, I'm just saying what I think is true.

I think that the Sun is a big factor in this whole thing, wether people believe it or not.
If you had the chance to take a astronomy class in high school or take one in a college or just study it because its something that you are interested in.

If do your research on information about stars, you will find out that the Sun is a star and that is a living thing. Not like you and me though. You will also learn that when a star is beginning to die or on its death bed that it does expand to enormous size more then a human has seen, also it gets hotter and hotter.
I believe that the sun is beginning to die, if you look you will see some strange things happening here on our planet. Glaciers melting, oceans expanding, deserts growing, ozone, all of these enviromental things.
Some people are responsible for some of the things also, ozone because we do emit gases more and more as time passes is what I believe. The humanly things that we do makes it a little worse.

The Sun is the main factor here. Sooner or later it will be the destruction of us. Theres no way of stopping it. You shouldnt worry about it that much either because more then likely it will not be in any of our lifetimes. That process takes thousands of years.

Another note.
This is about using subsitute fuel method. You dont hear alot about other methods of a fuel source but its beginning to be heard now. America and all other countries that use gas powered cars have been doing that since the dawn of car.
For something to change over to something takes a long time. Look how far we as people have progressed in the automotive industry, we have cars and trucks that have eight cylinders but at times they can run on four, we have cars that dont shift now, we have cars that can get to 45 to 50 miles a gallon. We have come a long way from the Model T.
As time changes we learn to use things better and become more and more smarter.
But for America and other countries to just simply switch to using an alternative fuel source is also going to take time. Its not going to be an easy thing.
Gas companies arent going to just dissapear over night, and if they do alot of people will go unemployeed. Causing more problems with economics issues. Losing money. And what exactly are we going to do with our vaste amounts of oil that we have and could have, just leave it there?
I dont think that alternative fuel sources will start taking a big entrance until at least 20 or 30 years maybe even fifty years from now. IMO.

I dont know if you guys think this is off topic on this thread but thats my opinion and information I can give to you.
