You should check the thread on XMW, there's some nice cars, and some serious action...

Do you use the e-brake (fake drifting?) or can you do without it?

EDIT:
I'm supposed to be gone, so no more posts...

Some people consider it fake drifting becuase it's the easy way, and the real way is by use the throttle, not the e-brake. I was just wonder, not the "?" mark after the "drifting".

If you class using the e-brake as fake drifting then what exactly is real drifting?

useing the e-brake is not fake drifting.... its just one of the many ways of brakeing the rear tires lose.its the easyist way, but not fake.

i drift a lot in gt4 my newist favorite car to drift is the rally WRX '03 (the one you dont have to unlock.) its a beauty to drift with my friends 4WD drift settup. i also like the BMW M3 CLS or CSL...i forget what its called. ill get some pics up soon.

Indeed!

I have a friend who drives a Nissan S-14 he took his drift license test about a year ago and past he is now able to compete in D1 competitions in the UK! (this is in real life by the way, not a computer game!)

He would also dump the clutch + downshift, pull the handbrake, then hit the gas and bring the clutch back up!

It seemed to work for him which is why I wondered why sweed classed it as fake drifting??

E-Braking to initiate a drift is one of the many ways to drit...its not fake. ALL pro drifters use the e brake drift....it all depends on the type of car or the track itself. If its a very twisty technical track they'll use the e-brake to intiate the drift.

E-brake drifting does not = fake drifting. A drift is a drift no matter how its initiated. Drifting is not the process but the action itself.

There are many different types of drifting...even a drift technique you can perform down a straightaway. But like I said before, the layout of the track dictates the technique you use to initiate a drift.

Saying e-brake drift is "fake" drifting just highlights your ignorance. Its like saying a curve ball is a fake pitch....the action of throwing a ball is a pitch just like drifting is an action the technique used to throw the ball is the curve ball just like a techniqe to drift is to pull the e-brake.

On the downhill Togue the e-brake is a dominate technique....mostly because you go down hill...now when you go uphill e-brake would not be a proper technique...you'd need to power over or use the clutch kick method.

Bottom line...a drift is a drift...and a pitch is a pitch....

when a pitcher in baseball throws 90 mph...who gives a flying **** how or what technique he used to throw it.

Just the same when a professional drifter wins a drift event who gives a flying **** whether he used the e-brake or not. EVERY SINGLE DRIFTER USES THE E-BRAKE!! The e-brake is a tool just like the clutch and the shifter.

Tell Keiichi Tsuchiya that e-brake drifting is fake....as a matter of fact take all professional drifters aside and tell them that little gem....don't expect to get any respect for it though. As a matter of fact put your ear plugs in because your gonna get your *** laughed at.

don't listen to every thing sweed says he knows xmods and rc really good, but he is a little wet behind the ears with real cars. Common people he said in another thread that Ligenfelder was a German company!

Also remember he is just a young kid like the rest of you.
