Well i'll be ****ed. I log in after 1 year and the first thread I see is about xmods being dead. Lol.
99% of the shizz I know bout the hobby I learnt here and xmf with xmods. I never drive them anymore. Just 3-4 that I take out once in a while. Mostly into bodywork and just painting. I've actually done a few projects that I'll post up once my exams end.
Still building motors though. Mostly 1/10th scale for the local guys.
This place has an EPIC history. One i'll never forget. If xmods wern't discontinued you'd still see everyone buying them.
Xmods are dead and gone forever. All the old dudes have grown out of the hobby/small scale or don't have time anymore. same goes for me. Bboying takes up most of my spare time now. And school too. I still can't believe how time went by. I started on xmods near the end of grade 5 and now im starting with grade 12 in august. ****..

as tim said i think the xmod generation has grown up and moved on , and with no new ones in the pipeline young people will never know the joy of building and customizing there first mod or the sorrow of the factory blue smoke as you fry your first fets in pursuite of more speed
Me i dont mod them anymore but i still race them every monday , when that stops that will be the end of xmods for me

I still mess with mine from time to time. Currently trying to make a set of MatTracks for my trucks. But most of my time is taken up by either work or either of my actual vehicles (currently looking into a motor swap.) My dad is the leader for the 4-H RC Cars club and they still race these. Though replacement parts are getting scarce.

I'd love to see these return. Maybe one day they will, or something like them at least.

I still see some people posting here from when I used to be active. I check up on the site about every 6 months. Ha ha anyway what got me here was a stroll though the attic and discovered my old box of xmods. I want to start back again so I thought I'd check in.

I drop in every now and then, I have kept all of my car Xmods but sold the trucks. I refuse to get rid of the cars, I really only ever liked to do the body work and painting/lowering them and slapping on some putty to create stuff.. as far as working on them, I haven't done that for a while, not even with my 1/10 trucks. My latest addiction is things that go boom, been slowly building a gun and ammo collection and shooting them regularly. I'll never get rid of the Xmods though, they got me started into the r/c hobby and I guess they're a bit sentimental to me. One of these days I will finish my all GPM Bumblebee (now all black) with li po and get it up and running. Guarantee I need new li po's now though.

well xmods for sure got me into this hobby a lonnggg time ago, it's pretty sweet to see this site still active

I moved up a little into hardcore 1/24 scale racing/modding

my losi micro sct's, rally's and truggys keep me super busy they are so much fun compared to xmods.

I still have a few shelf queens sitting on rolling chassis.

The only working chassis I have are:
- 350z starter kit still in mint condition. She was always a shelf queen.
- FrankenHummer (Thread) (All these pics are gone)
- SilverLade 2.0 (Thread) (All these pics are gone too)
- Bronco lowrider (no idea where the thread went)

I still love xmods. I have quite a collection and one that Ive dumped a very large amount of time and money into. They're really fun to drive, and I hope people stay interested in them.

I get on the forum every once in a while to see whats going on, but haven't done much with mine in a while. They're all sitting on a shelf together and I still have plans to get my gen.1 skyline running perfectly(it's gone through at least 3 EPs), but with school and my real car taking all of my time/funds I don't know when that will end up happening.

I wasn't so much for the electronic modding as half of the forum was at the time, but more for the custom bodies.

It sucks though, it's something I've messed around for about 7 years now and still do from time to time, but there's no one who's remotely interested in the art of customizing bodies compared to three-four years ago. Less people can give you real constructive criticism now, and that bores me.

Oh well, gonna keep on my grind :P
