their toy grade kinda. but with their long list of possible modifcations, that makes them sorta in between hobby grade and toy grade. but IMO this is prolly a hobby grade xmod:

They are toy grade. What keeps them from being hobby grade is the low quality, non-propo radio, crappy stuff, and so on. The Gen1's were closer to hobby than the Evo's are.

Hobby Grade is like the Micro-T, for comperison. Much higher quality, better stuff, so on. There's a noticable difference.

That is the sinister pro chassis so that is an expensive xmod! That chassis is 170 bucks and probably the best chassis out there!

i believe hobby grade because you can upgrade it, you cant get a walmart car and have the same performance, or upgrade it.

I disagree! They aren't hobby because they don't have any hobby grade parts, e.g. the TX or even simpler than that oil filled shocks!

Also you can to Walmart buy any car, take it apart and put any aftermarket pieces you like in to, I knew someone running a Dodge Viper from RS with upgrade board, fets, etc and a v10 motor it was fast as can be but still looked like a crappy RS RC car...

It's a toy IMO.

I dunno where I remember reading it, but there was an explanation about it somewhere why it's a hobby grade like toy but mostly a toy.

Either a cheap hobby or an expensive toy. It also depends on how you're using them.

Toy grade, no doubt. $50 doesn't buy hobby grade, unless it's broken or burnt.

It's still fun, what else would a die-hard RC'er bash?

Hobby grade isn't a feel, it's a level of quality. There are hobby grade cars that you can't buy upgrades for, and if it's hobby grade, you don't need to fix it every other week. (Unless it's nitro, lol)...

It's a quality diffrence. Hobby grade is also sold at Hobby Shops, whilst Toy Grade is sold at toystores. It's not a 'feel' thing to it, Xmods are toy grade.

Anyone that has a Micro-T, you can tell that it is of a much higher quality. The tranny is smooth, the radio is good, everything fits perfect like it was meant to be there, and so on...

I think the company made it for the toy grade. Look at how the Transformer cars were packaged packaging for lil kids, kids won't put them back in the plastic case, thats prolly why they put them in a cardboard box, saved them some $$$ also. I think though that we have kind of turned into a hobby grade now everyone is making their own bodies for them, customizing the chassis beyond what RS supplies.
