i think the reason the price is so high is because there is so much room for error.
you can cause the most damage taking off the stock fets. installing the new 1s is the easy part. the stock seem like they are glued as well as soldered down.

i dont really have the time to do it and i wouldnt want somebody to be without their mod for an extended period.

most of the people on this forum have more than one xmod, me I have 37. use some desoldering braid to remove the solder and get the fets out easier

Well, I also have a problem getting the FETs off there pads...

Anywho, if you people want your FETs stacked so **** bad, and your too "incapable" of doing it yourself, have AM do it. In fact, XI has an installers section, and I'm pretty sure mk2 could do it for you (alot cheaper than AM too...)

ya a little research would have told you not to use the better ones with stock as you will not get the desired result...

Actually, ZX9RBART advised me that if you wire your FETs parallel on top of the stock FET, it just adds to the amperege tolerance of the 4562 or other upgraded FET. So instead of handling 7a, it handles 9a....

the easiest way that i've found to remove stock fets without damaging them is to use two irons.
with two 25W irons you can place one on each side and pinch the fet while lifting and the come right off.

stacking on the otherhand is a different story. one side, one leg at a time to make sure all of the legs tin in a straight line.

thats why i started doing my own....am was just too **** high. i did fry 1 board but have been good on all my others.

after using the upgraded fets on a few of my xmods.....i just bought some extra stock fets and stacked them on the existing stock fets. not only did that make the whole procedure easier but when i stacked the stock 2x3 it had the same performance of the 2x2 upgraded stack.
