Default Skyline is Finished!

Well I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I love the color and the screening looks good, but the windows didnt peel off so nice, and took some of the red off the body... it doesnt look very well done. The tail lights are also a little rough due to the fact that they were taped instead of removed (superglued in from last paint job). I dont like the gold headlights, but they used to be blue and i dont have any clear ones, so that was next best option. Anyways I want to here some opinions, let me know what you think!

WINGLESS SKYLINESS FTW!!!!!

I don't really have anything to add. I agree, the color looks amazing. but the details didn't go so hot. I don't think it's nearly as bad as you make it sound, however....I think it looks awesome!

I'm loving the gold rims!

also, for future xmods (and/or other members considering painting their cars), use just a dab of model glue. it's not as strong as super glue. just strong enough to keep the taillights from falling out, but not too strong as to prevent future removal.

i really like the color, and the thickness of the paint makes it real smooth.

True, the window masking isn't so great, but when you compare it to the rest of the car, offset roofscoop, candy red, hot gold rims, etc, it doesn't look at all that bad. Its sorta like asking if the glass is half full or half empty.

Later,

Like the color... but the paint's definitely thick, and then there are the masking details, etc. which you already pointed out yourself.

Frankly I like it better the way it is in your avatar.

thanks for the comments guys and keep em coming... anyways, i never had any intentions of having silver window frames, so as time will allow, i might hand paint them black if i get bored enough, as well as touch up the spots where silver shows through the red.
