you got all that for 15 bucks? how much was shipping, 25? lol

those lipos will fit if you modify the wire connecting them. just take off the stock batterys and mount them side ways in teh same spot, in the same fashion.

i dont htink its required to upgrades your FETs with lipos, but probably suggested for longer safer life span.

looks like you got a great set up!

Its worth pointing out for our newer members that the output from li-polys tends to be higher than that of li-ions and gen1 can't handle as much as an evo board can due to poorer quality components so whilst this will work it does carry some risk....

wouldnt upgrading the FETs solve that though and allow perfectly safe runs?

Correct upgraded the FET's or running an external turbo would help support a higher current but its not just the FETs which is why I wanted to make the point so we don't any newer members burning out their cars....

something like the nelly or spider or something. you can still find some on ebay. its basically a fet upgrade. but on wires, and not just the fets soldered to teh board.

edit i lied. guess you cant find em on ebay any more. atleast not anythere now.

but here is the spider

well, fitting an evo board isn't too hard to do, just that now, evo boards have direct-soldered frequencies >.<

yeah they will fit just fine, the voltage is the same, the amperage is slightly higher. upgrading fets is a good precaoution. the gen1's can only handle 7.2v,so running any lithium chemistry battery in a gen 1 will be making the ep run at its operating limit (not good for the longevity of the car: the ep will have its life cut a bit short-probably to 3/4 of the normal lifespan of the stock electronics on NiMH)

I see you are using SupRacing lithium polys. Not to disappoint you, but those are dangerous batteries in of them self. They have been known to leak, and have power bursts that fry boards. Those two can be prevented by re-wiring the lithiums, as the wire used on those batteries are worse than stock. The wiring on a scale from 1-10, 5 being stock, they are 2 maybe 3.

Also, I would go for an evo board installation, as the Generation 1 boards are very jittery, and only handle 7.2v as XMDrifter said. Plus, the evo board is easier access, and the new ones can have interchangeable crystals by following this tutorial.
