Default Widening the EVO

I know I can use the spacers to extend the chassis for a longer wheel base. How do I widen it? I bought a body that the length is good but the tires do not stick out far enough. I want to make it wider.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply - but for the width I need it won't make it wide enough. I have an idea but not sure how stabel/sturdy it will be.

Was hoping people have done this before and had some good way of doing this.

About the only thing you real can do is to get wider tires. If the widening the whole chassis its going to take a lot of modding. Because for one you will have to get the steering to work, either the drive shafts or the Diff will have to be elongated. Just really a lot of work for one Model car.
My I ask is your Model Racer the c5 Corvette?

No -
I bought three kits -
1:25 '67 Dodge Corent R/T
1:25 '69 Charger - Dukes of Hazard
1:24 Tamiya Porsche 962C

All three kits the wheel base length is perfect when using 2 spacers from the mustang kit.

But - The Tamiya model kit - The width is a bit to wide. Turning the tires around won't work for it.

Anyway - Any helpful advice is appreciated.

try making deep dish wheels. carefully cut the wheel but not cutting the spokes of the wheel. the point is to get a wide ring. sand the rough spots from cutting, glue the ring onto the lip of the wheel, let dry, sand the ridged on the wheel a little. youll have deep dish wheels that will extend futher than turning the wheel around. and deep dishers look great in a slide

Yeah, deep dish would be best. You can try using the EVO HotRod wheels, flip them backwards and use a dremel or some other tool to remove plastic from the D-hub so it can fit easily and you'd be able to put the locknuts in. PM Xmodification about how he mounted his Hot Rod wheels to his Mitsubishi 3000GT

Also, Study, are you the same one from RCU?
