Default XXX: Project "TATRA"

This has been a dream for GearheadV8 for awhile. This project actually started almost a year ago but as per his request no thread was posted until now. This is truly an original build (atleast I believe so) I built the chassis and GearheadV8 is going to build the body. Actually the chassis is finally complete, so this thread already has an archive of many photos waiting to be posted. I am not going to post the whole build right away because...well,... that's boring. Once I have the entire chassis build posted GearheadV8 will take over the thread and post the body build. Enjoy.

First off, does anyone know what a Tatra is ..... anyone, .... do a google search and post a photo. Once someone posts a photo then I will start the build photos.

Bingo. That's the one.

So this project is the Tatra from the previous post. 8 wheels, all working... no dummy wheels. All 4 rear wheels have power to the ground and all 4 front wheels have steering. It has 2 motors, 1 micro servo, lithium batteries, 18g superflex, a custom CF and styrene chassis and turned out very clean (Like I said before, this build is complete all ready) I have dozens of photos and some videos as well. So without further delay, let's start the build thread as if the project just started. Thanks for tuning in.

Well, here is the rear-end. I like the styrene because it gives flex and articulation between the 2 rear axles so they have some independance when going over obstacles.

I know... it has one. This is a build thread, and those are just the mock-up photos from 3 months ago. Everything on the chassis is cleaned up and complete now, but we'll get theree.

It goes completely left and right, all the way to the stock Xmod limitations. Don't let the opening in the chassis throw it off...because the opening is wider then it's capability. But yes, it goes full left and right now. It did stop a bit short to the right, but that was just because the servo arm was hitting the chassis, that has long been fixed.

Thanks.. She runs very nice, but is currently in the process of some re-work. The board isn't responding to steering all of a sudden. The servo is fine so it is the board. At an initial look, nothing on the board appears to be fried, all looks normal. So Im working the issue right now. Here is a photo of the completed double tie rod in CF.
