Just to give you a few pattern idea even though i know you said you want to paint it your way but, this was my suby before it broke, litrally the body broke and it only needed the front bumper redone and few clear coats.

The top secret hints towards a subaru made by top secret?

Google found that. I'm no tuner fan, but I'm going to be surprised if that's true and nobody picked it up..

Not what I was getting at exactly, more talking about the tuning company called "Top Secret".

He was just mentioning that "TOP SECRET" is mostly associated with Performance parts and body works and some awesome paintjobs .

Nice idea using nail polish - be sure to add another coat on the spokes and inside of those also just so that the color doens't look faded from the center outwards - a few coats will make it look all even.

Great start so far - keep it up, i'm sure you'll get alot of great ideas from the guys in here

i don't get it, if it was cold enough for long sleeves why didn't you need any pants? the wheels didn't come out bad for using nail polish, they look a bit blotchy though. it's terribly hard to paint chromed wheels as the paint never wants to adhere.

she was wearing pants, they are just tight booty shorts. She's a dork.

The wheels are not really what i would call blotchy. they are very smooth and very shinny. but the nail polish is quite THICK. so it sorta looks bad.

I was trying to mask them off so we could spray them, but i couldnt get the tape to stick to that small silver lip. So we opted for this. After the rest of the car is done, and your not zoomed in on the wheels and your looking at the car as a whole. i dont htink anyone will notice the extra thick pink

nice i like the rims i like the idea of painting with nail polish, even the bottle said extreme wear so that means it will last.

as for the no pants thing i don't want to know.

while i agree i thought it was a good idea... i wouldnt suggest it. nail polish is way to thick. it makes for a SUPER glossy cover. but its just to thick.

and again. she was wearing booty shorts! she wasnt pantless, but with the long sweater it just looks that way...

too late chance, she already confessed.

at least if you're not happy w/ the wheels nailpolish remover can get you a fresh start =P i see what you're talking about w/ the polish being thick though, you can see where it filled in the dimples for the lugs. i tried painting these wheels before w/ a paintmarker for M0DEL, it just didn't work, the paint kept fisheyeing and as you've figured out, they're almost impossible to tape off =(

i say few things here.
use liquid mask. it sticks to everything and once you're done painting, it peels right off.

lol. pants or not, it's gotta be freezing.
you sure, chance? you shouldn't know should you? jkjk

LMAO alright, u guys let your minds run wild. only I know what really happened

These wheels are quite the pain. but i think they look great when done. the masking was impossible. so this was the best bet. Ill probably have my sister dot the lugs with silver paint. She is a great pin stripper. So that will be no biggie and might bring so more realism back to the wheels. But again, when they hit the car. i dont think you'll be able to tell the difference.
