Jealous. I love the Ninja's. Pretty bikes. Knowing your styles and tastes, you'll have this thing ship-shape in no time.

Cheers,
Kyle.

Agreed. Its flooding itself to death. I have lost count of how many motorcycle carbs I have rebuilt... Most get gunked up after sitting for a few months, at which point the carb needs to be cleaned in every nook and cranny.

As much gas as has been being dumped into this thing, once you get it started and before you even think about dropping it into gear, CHANGE THE OIL! It will make no sense to do it until it is running but do not ride it before you change it. It is most likely full of gas.

before you rip the carbs off,try a bottle of STA-bil(or drain the gas tank) and a bottle of run through carb cleaner.
i had a problem with my carbs when i bought my bike.
35MPH was the top speed and 4k RPM was the max rev.
3 tanks of gas and a quarter bottle of carb cleaner later,i was tooling it around the neighborhood at half throttle and BAM,something let loose and the front wheel came up in second......
been running strong since.

if it comes down to pulling carbs or $8.00 in additives,....i'mma try the additives first.

Eh, Id pull the carbs either way. That way I know for sure that they are clean and nothing is worn.

I might buy this if the bike would run at all but he can't even get it to start and it's dumping raw fuel into the engine.

Was going to work on it today, but dont really have much time ill try to get something posted up though.
Right, but the fact that it will not run with the fuel turned on to me means it does not run. Fuel system cleaner can't do much if you can't even turn the fuel on. Now after you get the floats and needles straightened out the cleaner may do wonders. Right now you are doing more damage than good by running it with unmetered fuel. The mixture is going from one extreme to the other each time you do this.

Stupid question.....but how long will it run with the fuel turned off? Is it possible that your pet**** handle is on wrong and when you turn the fuel on your actually turning it off? I'll watch the video when I get home and can probably tell by the sound. Does it rev up slightly before it dies or does it slow down and blow black smoke out of the pipe?

Taking it out to the shop tomorrow night. Should hopefully have it running normal by friday

The sound in the video sounds like crap, like its missing or something. my camera doesnt record good sound, probably been dropped to many times lol.

i can go down to my parts store and get one for 15, i just havnt made it down there yet, been being reallly lazy lol. But thanks for lookin out!
Actually, the pet**** should be vacuum actuated, so even in the on position fuel will not flow without the engine running unless it is placed in the "pri" position.

Looks very nice! The orange and black is an awesome combo.
And if you didn't know this already your bike has the only two available color combos for 02 on it.
Just thought I'd throw in some random trivia.

very sexy, but ten miles is nothing. my family's 2005 dodge caravan broke 100k a few days ago. that thing is so overused... anyway, back to your bike: cf and chrome are screaming "white!" idk why, but it seems like the perfect color to suit those. i know you could care less about color now, but still.

Very true, any ammount of time on something thats not ready for the road is a lot of time. I don't know if you could get off with it where you live, but, when we had the urge to drive something not licensed and tagged, we would go ahead. The reason for the confidence is that we used to be able to claim that we were testing it and had just came from a shop. (You might need to look greasy and tired, lol) I think the rule is like ten miles from a workplace not sure though. We used to know one guy who never had plates, but wherever he was, he was always anout ten miles from a shop.

But anyways, bike looks like it's coming along nicely, it's good to re-use all the parts you can, saves $$$. Carbon Fiber and chrome will look nice, + you will have spares or you can hawk 'em on the 'bay.

Cool.
