Default Project: Xtreme

Alright...I decided since it is a 3-day weekend to start modifying my F-150 to be an Off-roader. Like I have said before, I am going to mount a Pajero/Montero 2 door model on it.
So far it has the off-road upgrade installed, and 4wd. I got some radline motors, so I need to put the Xmod wires on them. Would neo magnets make the green Radline Motor have even more torque, or should I just let it be?

I also need to fix the darn bump steering. Its really annoying. I am trying this idea I have though to fix it so I hope it works.
Anyways, I'm gonna relocate the battery case to the top on the chassis, and then install my 6 cell up grade. Also gonna do the articulation mod to it.

Right now the truck's rear differential is broke on one side so it is running 3wd.
I got a question for anyone who uses Radline motors in their trucks.....
Do you use the motor spacer in it, and do you have to loosen the gear cover a lot?
I have noticed this on mine, that the pinion gear rubs the gear cover, so I had to loosen it a lot.

Here are some pictures I took really fast....not much modification noticeable yet. Sorry for the poor quality, its with my cell phone. More Updates to come later.

If you look closely I put the 2 long screws through some springs.

Alright little update.....got the battery relocation done, just gotta run out and get some more velcro. I also did my 6 cell addition while doing the main holder relocation. I'm so glad I didn't screw anything up....yet.

Here are some pics. I took springs and put them in to help correct the bump steering. I didn't use any glue, just 2 springs cut in half.

Still need to do some more stuff....such as fit my big wheels to it, and order some GPM maybe. I might have to do the wide axle stub upgrade...if I can find axle stubs laying around!

I think its going to look good with the Pajero body on it....
Should I put neo mags in the radline motor?

I put springs on the long screws above the front wheel knuckles....

And I also put springs on the screws that hold the tie rod to the knuckles

Here are some pics of the battery relocation

Looking very nice! Hah you'll need some big tires to take up all that space. So far so good.

Thanks. Yea, the tires I have are pretty big. The F-150 isn't the permanent body though. I just tested it, and for being 3wd it sure went! My crappy rechargeable batteries actually worked for once.

If the antenna touches a battery or motor is that how you fry your range? I want to be careful, cause the antenna goes under the battery holder...but I haven't put it on yet...

Got the model kit. Currently the body is blue like in the picture, but I'm gonna change that since they didn't paint the hood blue....
Kind of weird....
I like the tires that come with it, they are bigger than the off-road wheels by a bit. The stock xmod truck rims fit in them, but don't allow enough room between the wheel and chassis.
I need to get some glue, and paint....going to the store right after this.
The body fits just right.

about the radline motors.
i run them in several of my trucks and even a couple cars. and i have had no problems with the pinion gear rubbing the cover. try pushing it on a little more. they are pretty much the same dimensions at the xmod stock motors just better quality motors. and neos would help it have even more torque.
anything other questions?

Alright Zippo I'll try that. I have noticed that the motor cover has to be on there really tight, mine gears keep slipping out.
Do you run yours with the spacers in? I currently am now, but when I tried it without it seemed to not slip as much....but It could just be me.

I hope it will be finished before that competition is up! Maybe it will be good enough....

I think the Montero/Pajero body will look really good on it. Not sure about the wheels though. Might have to find some other ones still, or just make the body set a bit lower down. If you have seen AeroSynch's 1:10th scale Pajero, I might go with that color, white and black. Although....a bright red just popped into my head....and I think that might look good....

yeah i use the spacers same as i would an xmod motor. the only one i had to modify the motor holder on was the evo car for the modified radline with the ball bearings. the endbell wouldn't fit without modding it. but there shouldn't be a fitment issue with any from the 3 pack. push the pinion on some more and try that.

Alright a little update here. Moved the battery holder and 6 cell.

Also got the body white. Needs another coat, which I'll do in the morning.
