Default let's talk tires!!!

what do you think?!?

one side has the standard RS off-road set. The other side has my new custom set. Obviously, I'll need to cut some of the body and raise it a bit more, but I think these will climb and crawl...

I like your custom set, but I think they would be perfect if they were a little bit wider, they just look to tall to be no wider than they are. Where did you get them?

one thing to remember about fitting larger wheels/tires.

for every fraction you add to the hieght, also needs to be added to the width.
the evo trucks are topsy turvy as its, any addition to the hieght of the COG is negative without adding to the width of the stance.

or to put it this way:
if you raise the COG then you need to widen the stance to keep the truck from rolling.

Well, I can't think of a way to widen the stance. They don't make don't make wider A arms and dogbones (at least nothing wider than the offroad kit which is already on the truck).

The wheels and tires are a mix of titan wheels, hollowed out tractor wheels, and tractor tires. The tractor was $2 at a dollar-type store. I had to buy two tractors, because it only had tall tires on back.

The truck is raised by flipping the front mount upside down and adding spacers in back. I still need to remove the battery tray and mount them somewhere else, or the tall tires will rub/hit when turning with compressed suspension...

yeah, that mudding look is what I was going for. I'm gonna use them on my hummer chassis and put a 1970's international scout body on it. It will look very "backwoods mudder" for sure!

I'm not sure you'll easily find these tires. I've been looking at toys for a while, trying to find interesting tires. I walked into one of those dollar-type stores, maybe a dollar general? I saw these cheap $2 tractors, and used the rear tires from two sets. This gave me four tires, totalling four dollars... I'm still working on things, but I'll post pics when the scout is done.

red10152, if you really like them, I might be able to pick up another pair of tractors, pull the wheels, and ship them to you. I would guess a paypal of $10 would cover everything. However, I don't make it by that dollar store very often, so I don't know when I could do it...
