Traxxas Slash Vs Losi 1/10 DT

Ok so for my birthday im thinking about getting either the Traxxas slash ($200) or the Losi Desert Truck ($220) Both need batteries, and chargers, and I wanted to know which is faster and more fun. I plan on getting a nice battery for some extra speed and eventually a 11.1V Lipo, and a Mamba

I really like them both but Im leaning towards the Slash. Thanks for the help guys.

personally i'd pick the slash. idk which is faster, but the slash is very unique, and probably fun to drive.

I saw the Traxxas Slash at my Local hobby store....and I wanted it so bad. It looks pretty awesome, only thing I don't like about it is its not 4wd...i think...
I'd go with that...but thats just me.

I Have Had The Desert Truck And I Like It More Then The Slash
The Dt Is Faster It Has A 540 Can 12 Turn Motor
The Slash Has A 550 Can 12 Turn Motor(15 Turn In 540 Size)
Plus The Lights On The Dt Are Killer
And The Dt Has A Spektrum Radio
Slash Has Cheap 27mhz Radio

This may be old but I own the Slash since June 26(my b-day) and I say its great for anyone. I don't let rain and deep puddles slow me down(mud is the most fun don't even make me go there). Sure the Losi DT uses 2.4 GHz Radio but I have seen a stock Slash and a Stock LDT run at a track and the Slash outran the LDT. Plus the Slash is huge! Here's a Pic next to my Nitro Pede.
The Slash is also tons apon tons of fun and can go up curbs better than a Traxxas Stampede. The best part that I like is that there is no more "tire-tangling" when driving with someone else because of the wide body.
