Default Woah Nelly....

hey im planing on buyin a woah nelly, but im a little curious, are they worth it?? and i know how to install them, but i got lost on the tutorial on woahnelly.com, the small four smaller wires go where the FETs were, and the thick BLACK and RED wires are supposed to get soldered on to the battery packs?

I'll have one at my house whenever he ph2t gets them assembled (something about a defunct supplier), but from all reports, theyre about as good as it gets, short of all n-chan fetting... Which he's working on.

Yes, the four small wires go to the FET pads, and the two big ones go to the batteries.

Oops, forgot about that. No, they don't go to the batteries, you remove the fets on the bottom of the board and solder in the spots it tells you to.

Default Wiring Nelly...

From the instructions, I gather that you hook the larger wires direct pos/neg on the battery source after the actual battery connector in parallel.

From what I understand, the circuit is a few capacitors (the larger capacitance, the more power it can inject), The four wires are effectively the FET removed and placed off board.

Now what would be interesting is making a quick disconnect plug for them so you can switch it between setups at your leisure.

Not a speed increase, a torque increase.

The larger wires from what I remember go to the power source. BTW, Ph2t is coming out with a regulated version like Atomic Mod's!

It is definitely NOT a capacitor stack. They're really heavy duty, high efficiency MOSFETs. There will be a very slight speed increase (maybe 1 km/h) due to the extra torque overcoming some of the drivetrain resistance, but nothing to write home about. The extra torque, however, is quite impressive, even on a 4 cell car. Ph2t has videos of a 4 cell with a plasma dash that accelerates at about the same rate as a 4 cell 9t stage 2.
