My car does this sometimes too, same with my truck. Except Its not fried range for me because the car works fine. Usually it is just my batteries in the car that are low. My truck does it when it gets stuck.

i think its the motor straining to move your car. try lubing the drivetrain. i've had this problem before.
and put a piece of electric tape under your motor to help it space out a bit more. that will help too.
if this isn't the case, then replace your ep
but i don't think its the range because you hear the car making sound right? so the car is getting the signal. i think its just the drivetrain binding a bit. so the extra stress on the floor keeps it from moving.

I am having a similar problem with my gen 1 mustang. When I turn the car on, controller is on of course, it makes a high pitch whinning sound. The car seems to run ok forward, backwards, left, and right. But the high pitch sound continues regardless of what the car is doing and it's a continous steady sound.
I can't tell if the noise coming from the motor, steering servo or some other part. Please if you need more details let me know. I'll do what I can to help you guys help me. Thanks.
