Default Xmod EVO Noise

Anyone know how to remove some of those Xmod noise when it is running? Comparing it to a Mini-Z these cars are loud when it is running.

What are some good basic upgrades? So far I have the aluminum hub carrier because I broke the stock one.

if you dont want to upgrade and buy things then tightening up all areas of your car (helps gears mesh better) and lubricating gears helps. its doesnt last forever obviously, but i know what you mean.

i wouldnt know about what parts to buy though. someone else would know better.

oh yeah where can I find an exploded diagram of the EVO car? I remember seening one before. This will help me incase I forget how to put it back together.

Most of the noise seems to be coming from the gears, at least that's what it sounds like.

btw, I hate the screws and plastic.... they seems to strip easy and the plastic seems very fragile.

if i recall corectly there is an exploded view on most instrustions for upgrades and on the back of some boxes.

and yes cheap plastic and tiny skrews with tiny threads sucks....alot. lol
and yeah the noise 90% of the time is from gears in one way or another.

I guess I'll have to take it apart later to check the gear mess and lube it a little.

nope, no exploded view in my kit.

Was thinking of getting bearing upgrades, but would help if I can find all the locations of the bearings in the exploded view.

Anyone did a conversion of the remote to use regular RC remote? The stock remote feels so unsmooth... but I can live with it for now...

im sure you can. just swap crystals. a remote is a remote. though xmods arent considered hobby grade i still think ou can. ill try it if my batteriers arent dead on my reg. ones.

and ill see if i have an exploded view. or i have a bunch of bearing kits ill see if they show it.

I tried swapping crystal on my Xmod to the Mini-Z remote and it didn't seem to work for some reason....

so it seems like no one can get rid of those gear noises? Then again I think the number of gears these Xmod have, you can't really get rid of it. I think my older 1/10 scale had the same problem until I got a new one with minimum gears!

In order to use a hobby grade rx/tx, your gonna hve to go full hobby grade. ESC and all. A common swap is tossing in the Mini-Z/Iwaver PCB.

As far as gears, bearings, and delrin gears are about all you can do to combat noise.

You can not just swap crystals with an Xmod remote, Xmod remotes are not compatible with anything. If you want to use a hobby grade remote you have to remove and replace ALL the electronics in the car. Check out this link (this is how you use a mini-z board.

When I put metal bearings in, it reduced the noise some. I reduced the wheel wobble which I assume reduced the rattle noise in the nuckles.
