Default NiMH Frustration! arrg!!

So I just started using my XMOD again. I bought some parts to customize my ride and what do you know? my radioshack brand NiMH batteries have gone to hell. I bought the XMOD charger and battery pack thing a few years ago when i bought my XMOD and they worked just fine. So i have two questions:

Is there anything I can do to fix these batteries?

and my other, more important question is

what NiMH batteries do you suggest?

thank you.

First of all, welcome to the site! To answer you first question, there is one solution that I have read about, but haven't tried myself. It involves putting the batteries in the freezer over night and then using them after they return to room temperature. There is a member here called lol that has used this method, so I will leave it to him to feel you in on the details. If it were me, I would just trash the batteries and buy a decent set as Radio Shack batteries are garbage in general. How long has it been since you used the batteries last?

Oh hi. Glad you can bring me up. O_O Throw them in the freezer after discharging them. They should be discharged after sitting around for 3 years or more. Wait for 24 hours or more, take them out. Wait for it to become room temperature again or just wait for another 24 hours, then recharge them. It should put new life back into your batteries.
