Gen 1 AWD binding?
I just decided to mod my mint Gen 1 that's been sitting on the shelf. So i picked up the AWD upgrade as well as the clear/CF chassis. Then, when i put it all together, i noticed that whenever i turn to the left while under throttle, i hear this nasty grinding noise. I know it's hard to understand what i'm talking about, so here's a vid:

not really, other than getting aluminum gpm knuckles and tierod.
but my gen1 hasn't failed and i've rebuilt it like, 10 tiems over with different boards and suspension setups on the knuckles, so you'll be fine.

What tie rod do you have in there? The stock yellow one or one of the red ones that comes in the suspension and steering kit? Im cant remember if the yellow has the cut-out area for the awd gear, i know the red ones do, Watch out with a GPM aluminum tie-rod as some of the earlier ones didnt have the filed down part for the awd gear.

I have the stock yellow one. So that probably explains it. I'd like to get the steering/suspension kit but i don't like how much flex the plastic has, so i'm probably going to purchase a GPM one, just dont know if i want one with any bit of toe...

Id go with a slight toe in if it were me. It angles the front tires in slightly which help the car track straight when going in a straight line. Everyones opinions are different for them. If you dont want to mess around with + or - toe, you can just stick with a 0degree tie rod which is the same as stock.
