would still be pretty cool in an xmod, like who else is going to have a nitro powered xmod, yes pointless but very cool the same, even if one was to just build it as a shelf queen

Cox engines are considered antiques. I have one that runs and about three more in parts. Not much power. They were designed for small RC airplanes and propeller powered control line vehicles. You can't find parts for em any more. Anything that breaks or needs replaced has to be fabricated. The main issue is glow plugs. The originals used a glow plug that was actually part of the cylinder head, which was threaded and screwed off of the cylinder. since they don't make or sell the original glow plugs anymore, when my last one went bad i drilled and tapped a hole in an old cylinder head and threaded a standard RC nitro glow plug into it. I've seen kits that have the special head with the threads on it already, but didn't want to spend the money. I've also seen dieseling kits for them which replaced the head with a special head that has an adjustment screw to adjust compression. Although Im not sure it would be so great in a car, even 1/28th scale, they are really cool little engines and if you dig deep enough, you can find some cool accessories for it too. ebay would be a good place to check. I've searched all of my local hobby shops and nobody had anything for them except for one which claimed they had the glow plug adapter head but sold it the morning before. so yeah, good luck.

there is a company in canada that has "riped-off" the cox design , from the .049 super bee to the .020 honey bee
parts are redily available and even a throttle coller has been made (original cox engines are all or nothing throttle)

and the best part ?? less than £20 posted

cox engines were used alot with tether cars

but if it could put down power it could probably make a good drag car

alright guys, I just got my Cox engine running. Its a .049, so bigger than the one in the video. maybe it'll have some pretty good power. Anyways, I am gonna try to make it work in an xmod. Im gonna ,make a new thread in projects about it, so take a look!
