Default pieisgude's gen 1 build.

Well, i figured i'd start a "build" thread. I wanted to put all the pictures and updates in one spot.
I started out in the rc hobby with xmods, and i tried to get into 1/18th, but i just didn't like it (at the time), so i went back into xmods with a 350Z that i had purchased a while back. It was bone stock for years just sitting on a shelf, and i finally decided to mod it.

Mods/Upgrades:
AWD
Clear chassis
CF upper decks
AtomicMods Tight Turns
2x2 4562 FET stack
Deans micro plugs
AtomicMods SuperFlex
Power switch bypassed
PN Racing 43t BB
GPM AWD front axles
Wide track bearings at the outside corners
PN Racing lock nuts

It's sitting on the Corvette's wheels from the Street series. But coming soon in the mail are some gold TOPCAD split 5 spokes that i think will look pretty sick. Lithium is definitely on the list for next upgrades, as well as new gears, alloy rear axles, a motor heat sink (if i can find one), and the suspension/steering kit.

I'll try to be adding to this list and adding more pictures as things happen. Enjoy!

i'll be running some PVC "tires" on them as this will become my little drift car.

what tires are you going to run on em? you going for drift or grip?

i suggest the atomic or kyosho drift tires for drifting, and if you want to grip, go for some 15 degree tires and mount up foams to your spare set of wheels

Your pictures of beautiful! Looks like you have a very well thought out, mild build. Hopefully you don't mark up that clear chassis too much when it's on the road.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I've been pretty scarred myself about marring up the clear chassis. I'm only going to run this car on concrete and smooth surfaces any way.

I broke my first piece the other day, the knuckle. I always hated how the suspension was designed on Gen 1s. It just makes no sense to make it the way they did. So alloy knuckles are on the way.

As for tires, i was planning on just making some PVC tubing tires, but is that recommended? I guess it depends on what surface i'll be on. Also, how do you guys think the suspension actually matters in this car? Because i was thinking of just making it all solid. I don't think there's enough weight and inertia to alter the handling of the car. Thoughts?

Besides worrying about scratching, you also need to worry a littlle more about the chassis cracking or even breaking. The transparent chassis are notorious for doing both. All of them that I have are either cracked or broken to some extent. Sure you can use them and take the risk, but they are virtually just used for shelf-queens.

Ah, well, i guess the original chassis will be going back on. I didnt want to drill into it for the lithiums anyways. Thanks for the heads up!
