Oh, ****!
We'll see how it turns out. Strict like XMF? I hope not.

To all of you that keep slamming the "Noob's" just remember that you were not born knowing all you know about xmods, you at one time were the "Noob", so give them a little leeway and not slam them as soon as they post something.
Without "Noobs" this hobby will stagnate and DIE.
Well, I think it is all in the attitude. Look at sweed for example. He can solder, and all that and has many unfinished projects; but his general attitude is very "noobish". He usually spams and just posts up smart alleck remarks, a lot more so than helpful information. I mean really, if Fordman had modding skills, he and sweed could swap accounts and no one would know.

With that in mind, I think there should be a definate tolerance for ignorance, yet I can't find myself to tolerate stupidity. I think that a lot of the new members haven't had the necassary direction, or motivation to help them better understand how "it works", but even with that there are those that still do not learn.

I guess my point is, that people are more than willing to help those new to the hobby, but not necassarily those whose behavior is unacceptable.

One thing that I have noticed about here, is you all have a very weird/strict definition of spamming.

Like when I asked darkenblades in his B/S/T thread if he had any rear truck diffs even though they weren't listed in the main part of the tread, there is a chance it could happen, you never know..

And then he tried to accuse me of spamming. Like I've said, I might be a noob here, but I am no noob to how a forum works. Have been a regular on many forums for atleast 5 years now. Moderated a few, and owned my own for a while.

I think that alot of what people call out to be spamming is a little ridiculous, and that it should be left up to the mods to decide who is spamming and who is not.

I don't think that regular forum members should be calling people out on spamming when it very well might not be, they should let the mods and admins decide what they want to be on this forum and not on this forum.

Bondo, congratulations on your new position of power. I don't know you that well, but you seem like a good candidate to be where you are.

Also, I noticed that people here judge other members by the caliber of their projects or if they have even had any projects. That's not right. A person here should be judged on the person that they are, on how they represent themselves in this forum and how well they help other members. Basically what they have to add to this forum, not how big of a project they have and how much money they have to throw at it. None of that matters.

The fact is, we are all Xmod enthusiasts and we should help eachother out as much as possible. This should be a place for everyone to gather, from the most knowledgeable to the noobs, and no one should be judged on the caliber of their work.

That's what I think, take it or leave it.

i'm surprised wikipedia doesnt have your name listed under spam torredo. even this post, what does the definition of spam have to do with bondo being an administrator? for heaven's sake buddy, please act your age. if you didn't tell us how old you were i'd be under the impression that you were eight years old.

i'm sure this forum will turn around for the better, considering we now have an active admin that gives a **** about the hobby, something this place hasn't seen since i've joined.

well, even though bondo and me havent really had a chance to "be nice", i still respect him, cuz i know that this forum is gonna be strict as hell, cuz i know how he runs stuff, nonetheless, if he was on my personal website, i would def. consider him admin cuz he is fair about everything. idk y he became admin, but all i know is that i hope this forum stays the same, as leanient it is, becuz yes, i think we would all get banned cuz of the sh-, stuff, we do on here. but neways, i wish you the best bondo, and congrats on the... promotion.

well, this thread was'nt exactly supposed to be about me but thanks for the feedback and positive support.
this thread was intended to let you guys know that yes, things are going to get a little tighter around here for a bit. but that doesnt mean that we cant still have some fun.
as far as the proposed content, outright flaming,excessive/repeated cursing, excessive spam, hijacking wont be tolerated.

as of now, everyone starts off with a clean slate in the mods eyes.(any current infractions will remain)

some of you are going to be watched pretty closely but now is your chance to act as civilized members or save us the trouble of banning you and walk away.
first and foremost, this site is meant for XMODS disscussion and helping others with their projects.
with your help and the help of the staff, hopefully we can get it back to that.
as it stands now, a guest/prospective member has to dig through 3 pages of bickering or hijacking to find any useful info in any given thread wich also renders the search option utterly useless.
this is not how a forum should be.

new rules are going to be discussed and posted.
there will be rules for each section that you are going to be responsible to read but all will be centrally located in one thread aswell as the section they refer to.
these rules arent going to be any different then you would find on any other civilized forum. but from now on, their going to be enforced.

cheers,
Bondo

Very true, you guys have to remember a lot of these people are kids below the age of 15 and this is their first forum experience, so try to make it enjoyable...and then maybe they can have time to learn the do's and dont's and learn to be better members of forums in general not just XMS...

BONDO, lol i put it all in caps... anyways overhaul the rule placement, like what you said before, its hard to find some of the rules cause its all scattered about in different sections...

Bondo, for the record, this forum should have this link posted up somewhere important:

It's just so useful.
